I used to think that hard work was the key to success, but over time, I’ve realized that knowledge is even more important. I recently discovered Borlest’s subliminal for fast learning, and it’s really helped me absorb information more quickly and retain it better. This approach has opened my eyes to the importance of continuous learning and self-improvement

Nice smooth controlled movements getting the benefits of the lowering phase The Eccentric phase of the movement not collecting any momentum on the way down and exploding on the way up with no momentum from the bottom continuous tension on the muscles at all times.

If you are an athlete you want a huge velocity change in certain strength training exercises, as you are trying to increase your power - which is to increase the rate at which you can spend energy and produce a lot of force.

dont divebomb is a great way of describing it.

I've worked on lowering set #'s and controlled slow eccentric, hold and squeeze for my last 2 chest work outs and back today.. The best workouts I've had in a long time !

Showing Matt wenning doing speed work as what not to do is hilarious.

I think it's important to keep in mind that this is the case with heavier loads. The second vid was a dynamic effort training from Matt Wenning but he doesn't use heavy loads because it's still a exercise that focuses on speed and explosiveness.

You’re literally my favorite on your topics a doctor that also does strength training can you even ask for more? ❤

Based on the comments about the bouncing video don't realize who that person is. He's one of the smartest minds in fitness. He's doing speed work. Do your research.

Something I actually agree with you, Doc. Well done.

I came here because of the 10th Mountain Division flag behind someone benching!!! Fort Drum was the coldest place I've ever been at and I visited Canada.

I think the dumping stretches the fibres better than a slow control and I use that feeling of extra stretch to push and stress those fibres even further. It’s like a fall and then you catch the weight. I would do something similar with my lateral raises I would at the apex of the rep unlock and then really grip the weight so it feels like it fell for a second, and get a gnarly contraction in my delts. It’s how I’ve always prefered to train and I feel like going for that feeling gets me more gains. Sometimes I milk and control the eccentric especially on dips I use both sensations in my training

The eccentric recruits less motor units than the concentric (50 % + less) so it's worse for mechanical tension over all
