Life on the road back then was brutal and like SP said his instrument was his voice and his mom being sick it is understandable why he walked. Touring is the most brutal part of Band Life for any member. As you get older and the body starts slowing down, more pains are accumulated and take their toll. The 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s were years of great harmonic music in America. Great time growing up in America, and Thank You Great Lord Above for filling the air with Harmony and blessing those with such great talent to give out to all of Humanity. Until I watched the documentary's, myself as a fan never realized how the grueling schedule of touring could have a negative impact on SP and the band. While I certainly missed SP during his absence, I am glad that he did what was best to make himself healthy again. Steve I will always wish the best for you. Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon make the big mistake on fired Perry on the "Trial By fire era " Perry have the accident on Hawaii and Schon never can´t get Perry on the band again, Steve maybe say : hello and that´s all .
Schon fired Jeff Scott Soto without a reason and later put Pineda ( he start get old and his voice is not the same is like Perry voice on Trial By fire on " When You Love A Woman " because they played on 2013 the whole Escape and Frontiers full records live and Arnel can´t sing like on 2008 maybe Schon try to talk over and over again with Perry if Pineda lost his voice then maybe Journey end after all this years !
Schon don´t deserve Perry on the band and by the way Neal get mad always with the guitar techs, Steve Perry you deserve peaceful life on your band without tension of Schon and Cain .( $$ guys) .
