Steve perry is my fav singer of all time. He has been through a lot in his life, guys that's what makes great songs, I was a lead singer of a band and heartache makes a great song

His voice may not sound like 40 years ago, but whose does? He still has a new and different sound and its still phenomenal.

Steve Perry is and always be the true voice of Journey. They have filled the void with Perry. wanna be
There is nothing wrong with him profiting off the sound that is Journey. His voice lunched the group into the stratosphere.

Steve Perry had every right to call the shots. So many bands are just greedy and Steve knew it. I really hope Steve is enjoying his life and getting the rewards of his hard work he put into journey.

Steve Perry is JOURNEY. Other singers who they have had are good but no one compares to Steve.

The lion's share of the talent walked out the door when Steve did. I loved Augeri, and Arnell has done an admirable job but neither of them is the full package. Steve can write, arrange, sing, and his stage manner is just ridiculous. He could have an arena eating out of his hand before he got to the first chorus of the first song. His voice has aged some, but he also hasn't played a shoe in decades now. If he decided to do music again it would take time, but he still has a vocal tone that can't be touched. It amazes me that almost no one picks up on what an egocentric asshole Neil Schon is. Steve was the guy that kept the band from being dropped by their record company. Neil hated the new direction the band went until the checks started rolling in. He is the living definition of sell out. He let go of his vision for Journey and went for the golden ring. Now I ask you, how the hell is any of that Steve's fault.

Let's be fair. If the lead singer is traveling separately because of the band it isn't his girlfriend that's the problem, it's usually total burnout. It's happene to other frontmen whose talent carried the ba d(e.g. Michael Hutvhence during the INXS Kick tour). At the Graham tribute concert, Steve Perry had bronchitis. The only reason he performed was for Bill. Could YOU sing with bronchitis? I could not; my entire top register would be gone and I could sing the baritone line (I am a mezzo soprano). Plus...do you know how HARD it is to be the LEAD SINGER? It's not like playing the guitar or keyboards; you are hurting your THROAT night after night. Everyone wanted to pack the tour with date after date because they needed the money; Steve physically paid the price and he didn't need the money because he didnt lead the rock star lifestyle. He did the last album for contractual reasons and he sounded GREAT. The last time, they fired him. They thought he was so easy tp reolace. Without Steve Perry Journey would have been done in 1978/ Have they had a big hit since he left? NO.

Steve Perry is known as The Voice for a reason.
I also just heard the Don’t Stop Believing is the best song of all time (Professor of Rock)

Sounds like you're downright against Steve Perry and of course you're blaming everything on Steve Perry.... My take is the band just got too greedy Steve Perry rebelled against that and walked away... Journey is nothing without Steve Perry

I used to sing professionally, but I made a huge mistake by singing in cold, rainy weather and having to introduce others. By the end of the night, I had lost my voice completely and it never has been the same. It has been extremely depressing, so my heart goes out to Steve Perry and all those that have lost their gift one way or another. Sometimes your voice can take many years of abuse, but sometimes it can’t. Sometimes it takes only one time. It’s weird though, I am now 55 and I have started singing again. Whereas, I used to not be able to get notes out, I have found that I am now able. My voice began sounding good again, but time has marched on. Take care of your voice. ✝️

I had everything up until Raised On Radio. Love both Steve and the band. That Philippine kid that replaced him is also an unbelievable le performer. He's not Steve, but he's SUPER.

I do not blame Perry one bit for wanting royalties. I mean lets face it, they could have found another singer as other bands have done but they specifically wanted someone that sounded just like him because Steve Perry made Journey what they are! People are human and make mistakes and it takes a bigger man to admit it, especially in an interview that millions will see.

Love this guy and Journey early 80's. Just wish it didn't fall apart the way it did...
