Commercial Orchid potting mix isn't always available or suitable for your needs. It's very much like my Grandmother cooking... without a recipe. A pinch of this and a cup of that... you develop a feeling for what you need.
This Dendrobium kingianum was accidentally upended a bit over a month ago and was reported with garden soil. A quick look around at this friend's place revealed all that I needed. 😎👍
Pine bark mulch, gravel from the pathway and charcoal from the BBQ. Give it all a good rinse and blend it together. I'm quite confident that this free draining mix will be better than the garden soil. 🤞
