Math Olympiad Question - Challenging Algebra Problem - Olympiad Mathematics

In this video, I am presenting step-by-step solution to this interesting and nice exponential equation. The solutions may be easily found, but we are using exponential operation and especially natural log to check how those answers are found. Exponential equation is an important topic in algebra, and this question will walk you through how to properly use exponential operation and logarithmic properties to check the answers without using guess and check. Algebra was nice but this one is easy to solve by inspection.

If x is a real valued variable then
x^x=x -->(x^x)-x=0
x[{x^(x-1)}-1]=0 factoring x out
x=0 and x^(x-1)-1=0
x^(x-1)=1 --> x-1=0
x=1
I think the above solution, moving x in LHS to RHS, applies for any value of x, regardless x is positive, 0, or negative.
