I just did a "too depressed to clean apartment" search. I feel almost stuck or frozen to do anything. I'm hoping watching this and other similar videos will help motivate me to just start.

"I'm just a house cleaner" you have unintentionally become an honorary therapist on YouTube... So, there's that.

I would like to add that when depressed, the feeling of being overwhelmed because your house is so far gone is in part, a kind of perfectionism run amok. I have a little experience with that. Something akin to "This is so bad that just cleaning the counters won't amount to much, so what's the point." It can be a starting point, that first foot through the door so it is really important. Even if that's all you get done that day, even if your kitchen or the whole house isn't perfect, it is important. I recently heard a phrase "Never let perfection get in the way of good enough." (Or something like that.) And often good enough is just fine. The whole kitchen isnt done but the counters are? That's fine, good enough for today. I thank you for your interesting content.

A friend said something to me a while back that made SO much sense. He said "It's hard to fight for yourself when you're not even on your own side" What you told Patricia was right. Patricia deserves Patricia to be on her own side 💖

I had to hire cleaners who come this week. I just could not cope. Overwhelmed by life and house demands. Was looking at the mess for months which added to my sadness. May this step be the start of recovery. I plan to hire cleaners 4 times a year to support me in maintaining a clean, organised home. Worth the money.

i'm in a similar situation to tha lady..I'm 62 i haven't worked for a good few years before due to constant depression I live alone in a one bed flat also and have very few friends or family. I've been recovering from a prosectomy operation since Jan this year so this has taken all my time with the recovery..although i'm starting to turn a corner..my problem is that even before I had problems with letting the flat get on top of me and also i play guitar and paint ..i'm an artist by profession but those talents seem to have long sailed or no longer give me pleasure.. not for years.. as that lady i'm too scared..anything i start to do takes forever..including the washing up..i get so tired i stop..then it's builds up again and it feels like building the forth bridge..by the time i get on again i'm back to square one..thank you very much for your'e great advice. it's keeping it going is the problem. I feel for that lady or indeed everyone on this page..it's a huge problem as it dominates my entire existance. I wish you all the best in all your recoveries and hope you find happiness once more..my fight continues but i hope to get there one day. Steve💚

I was nearly killed in auto wreck a few days ago. I can barely move. I was driving my sister's car, with my niece and her 15 month old with me. Christmas is coming and my birthday is Tuesday. I can hardly breathe and barely make it to the toilet. I am here for a reason. However long I live, I will produce love and meaning. I love others, more than my own internal broken records. I love others more than and it is given freely. My niece and sister are angry with me, but the wreck was not my fault. I Let them rant over text and say a prayer for them when I get one. We cannot control others thoughts of feeling, but we can control our thoughts and feelings. Life is all about choices. Merry Christmas Angels Your videos are my new friend! And you did not tell me what you put in your kids Christmas stocking! LOL

She's depressed which means she has no energy, Patricia needs sunshine and Vitamin D3 and to do things one step at a time. Get up to go to the restroom, pick up the clothes on the floor put them in the washer or wash the dishes easy does it. But if she doesn't tackle the underlying issue it's going to be hard. Love your upbeat positive attitude Angie, I'm learning a lot from your videos. Thank You!

I’m 30 a single mom in NYC. I’ve been depressed for 2 years and I’ve tried so hard to figure out how to feel better. This is the first time ever I’ve heard exactly what I needed to hear. God bless you! This touched me and I’m a fan forever! Thank you so much!

What I've suggested as a residential cleaner and as a mom to 2 kids... We do our "Saturday", it's "trash, dirty laundry, and dishes". We go around collect those things. After the laundry is piled and the trash is bagged and dishes are in the kitchen we are pretty much 90% there. The rest is mainly things that need to be put in their "home". It's a great place to start if overwhelmed.

Your advice was "spot on" and you give your suggestions in such a kind, caring way!
One piece of advice that I was given was to clean your sink & wash the dishes each night before you go to bed (if you can manage it) then one of the first things you see in the morning is a clean sink. When I do that I'm surprised at what a boost that gives me.
