The NASM Overhead Squat is one of the most important assessments to be familiar with when studying for the CPT exam. Not only is it important to know for the test, but it can tell you a lot about how your clients move. However, to get the most out of it, you need to know what you're looking for and try it with with many types of bodies.

In this video, Axiom Fitness Academy lead instructor Joe Drake, performs the overhead squat assessment on Henner and explains how to identify potential issues and strategies to improve Henner's squat.

Hi, great video, very helpful! If you have a client that lacks from depth just as here, would you always keep placing those plates under his heels during the regular training workouts? or would you work on achieving more flexibility so he can squat lower without using the plates at some point? Thanks !
