What really annoyed me about The Vision in "Civil War" was that, after he had accidentally blasted War Machine, he could have swiftly and easily saved him from crashing, but he did nothing.

They don't know how to scale power levels in the MCU

so what your saying is lack a clear VISION for this character 🤗

I feel like the MCU in general just glazes all over Iron man and Cap. The way they disrespect Wanda, Vision, Hulk and Thor in order for them to shine is insane. How was Thor a demigod losing to Thanos with both stormbreaker and mjolnir, while Cap was on par with him being just a super soldier with only mjolnir, what happened to the whole movie about Thor being strong beside his hammer? Atleast Strange never really gets downplayed, but it still pisses me off.

The show What if? Showed the full potential of vision when ultron takes over his body. Oooo boy the destruction he causes. Splitting thanos in half was the least bit of his terrifyingness.

It's simple actually - starting with Civil War Vision is a pacifist. He is always holding back. I know it's a cliche in superhero movies, but it works perfectly for Vision. It was clear that he was remorsful about killing Ultron, and that was before he criplled Rhodes by accident.
Mind Stone made Vision physically extremly powerful, and at the same time mentaly unable to use all this power.

Its not just vision. Thor, Hulk and others recieved severe nerfs for no reason in the mcu, vision just got it the worst imo

Powerful characters next to regular ones always is tough... its like when you have Superman, why do you need the rest of the League. I remember a comic where Hulk went on a rampage and owned all the Avengers without breaking a sweat and Vision phasing his hand into Hulk's heart was the only way to stop him. Maybe if they made it more clear he tries to avoid violence for fear of becoming the next Ultron it could at least go a little way to why h pulls his punches.

Happens in the comics all the time as well. As someone who used to read the punisher comics, how many times they had to nerf more powerful characters to make it seem like punisher stood a chance. And I am sure DC has done this a ton of times to make batman an equal opponent.

Vision is just another version of the superman problem.

At his creation in the MCU he was supposed to be ultrons perfect body built out of vibranium so it couldn't be destroyed.

Then he got added buffs beyond that with the mind stone.

Dude is absurdly up and they have him play house.

Been enjoying these videos. Could you do one on Icarus flying into the sun at the end of Eternals.

He couldn't fly at super speeds so we get to imagine him floating through outer space for weeks or even months regretting his decisions 😅

And the airport battle in civil war was BS anyway because they weren't really trying to kill each other they were just playing around. That was one of the problems with the MCU certain fights. You just didn't take serious because you knew nothing was going to happen. They almost did the same thing with hulk. They reduced him to nothing too. That's one thing I liked about the dceu. No matter how powerful the character was, they always displayed it and was able to scale it to everything around them and still made it believable

The one thing i really wanted was him to acknowledge the fact that he's STILL technically Jarvis and would have his memories. He could have had some good moments bringing that up to Tony and talking about what it was like to be Jarvis

Vision was not worthy of Mjolnir. Vision picking up the hammer is the same as the hammer not destroying any inanimate object that thor sits or lays it on. The hammer judges the soul. Vision was created with the mind stone. if he was created with the soul stone, then whether he's worthy or not could be judged.

0:36 - Yes, he, above all else, understands his powers. He understands the danger he offers, and he CHOOSES to be a pacifist. In What IF we get a peek into what someone like Ultron, with little regard to life, can do with said powers but none of the moral shackles. Vision was made to be a hero, but he just wants a peaceful human life.
1:08 - Because he is that much self aware, he sides with Tony and tries to be a guide to Wanda, who is also unbelievably powerful, with even more potential. He holds backs because he doesn't want to harm friends, and when he steps out of that line even slightly it immediately backfires on him. It's not inconsistent, it's perfectly consistent.
1:54 - Vibranium is not indestructible, it's not even the strongest metal in the universe, just a very rare, lightweight and strong alloy found on Earth. It has particular properties, like shock/wave absorption, but it's not the end all be all for metals in the MCU. Even Asgard had better stuff since way back in Thor 1.
2:20 - Vision is not a fighter. He is powerful, but he doesn't WANT to fight ever. He is a pacifist. And he got jumped and was injured the whole time. Wanda at that point is just a girl. She barely knows how to use her own powers (despite being very powerful). Before Age of Ultron, she opted for indirect confrontation, while being mentored by Cap and the other avengers she starts to be more of a hitter (Civil War) still with a very rudimentary use of her abilities, but after the split she goes back to a normal life and stops training. Meanwhile, Cap, Falcon, Black Widow are all active fighters, long-life soldiers, with decades of experience with fighting stronger/faster enemies. Fights (good ones) aren't just "stronger character wins". Context makes the fight. Wanda wouldn't even begin to understand her powers until WandaVision, of course she lost when she got jumped by people prepared to fight her. It's a similar to case as of why the Hulk seems much weaker when Banner is in control.
2:53 - Vision was created in a moment of desperation trying to stop Ultron from getting his final form. He stands as a juxtaposition to Ultron's ideals. Ultron was programmed to end conflict, and to that end he concluded he must end life. Even when Ultron was just a few scrapped robots, he was throwing down, he wanted that smoke, no chill. Vision, however, had no programming. When he woke up, he was a free living being, with the power to be anything he wanted, and he chose a normal life. That's the whole theme behind it. Vision just going full Ultron on someone, even the villains, would be the actual betrayal of his character. Rather, being a pacifist and mentor is exactly what he was meant to be.
Also, the claim they couldn't handle his power is absurd. Vision is not even at the top of the pole. His arc was crafted so Wanda would be in a moral dilemma and set up her next arc.
3:40 - Yes, he is a one of a kind life form that sees humanity from the outside. That's how he deals with the opposing qualities. You're basically stating what his character is and the themes he works as if that's a flaw and not the actual point.

Vision could easily control the mind of any one he touches... He could have controlled the villians... This power is also not used...

I always felt Vision was intended to be somewhat indecisive. Jarvis was not ever an AI with a lot of initiative. Ultron got a lot more Stark and Vision got a lot more Jarvis. So he was based on a passive character.

In the battle of the airport in Captain America civil war he was obviously holding back because he was trying not to kill any of the other Avengers

"instead of showcasing his capability as one of the Avengers' heaviest hitters, he's portrayed more as a distant, logical presence rather than a frontline fighter" erm, isn't that the whole point of the Vision though? That's literally the perfect description (to me) of what the Vision's character should be?

Kind of like Beast. both Beast and Vision are ridiculously strong characters but they prefer using their minds.

I sighed LITERALLY at the same time as you did at 2:03 when they said that he got stabbed by a "vibranium-penetrating material".
