Restricting ROM does need mean avoiding it. Find your sweet spot with enough shoulder extension to be able to use your chest but at the same time restrict it enough to „just“ use a reasonable ROM.

When the weight is too much you cannot avoid it itherway. So I think it’s ok to try to avoid from the 1st place …🤔

What if my strength is actually in that over extended rom? I can do 50kg with full rom and then if I cut rom, I feel weaker.

Id rather have strenth at full rom than a number that doesnt help my life.
Usable strength and lack of injury is far more valuable than some max.
