Look, I understand that warming up can be a tedious, annoying thing that most people don’t want to do before training Parkour. It’s so much easier to show up to a spot and just go! But I promise, you are putting yourself at a disadvantage.

Warming up in Parkour has a lot of key benefits to prepare you for your training.

1. It increases your body and muscle temperature, allowing for more blood flow, and therefore more oxygen to to your system. Which means you are primed for the explosive moves you’re about to perform.

2. It can help you mentally get ready for your Parkour session. The last thing you want is to start off with a jump, and have it negatively impact your mindset because your weren’t ready for it. Starting off on a negative mental not is NEVER good for training.

3. It reduces your chance of injury! Making sure your body is primed and ready to go, will give you the confidence to continue training, and NOT worry about basic injuries that can occur with a cold body

So please, please, PLEASE warmup before your Parkour session. Your body will thank you 🤙🏼

My warm up is usually biking to the spot and then doing climb ups and maybe small precisions until I move to bigger things, but I know I should be doing more.
