Pain after surgery is very real, and your anesthesiologist can help minimize that discomfort in the hours and even days after surgery. However, some patients display a remarkable ability to overcome their pain. This patient falls in that category of not succumbing to the adverse effects of unmanaged post-surgical pain!

Patient Controlled (pain med) Assistance (PCA)--usually, Hypermobile Patients (such as, but not limited to: Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Marfan Syndrome) have: break-thru pain that needs to be controlled after surgery for the 1st: 24 hr.s. A PCA pain pump and button is the best management system for this. (Especially when: topical-injection: cutaneous nerve blocks fail).

I don’t get what she is doing? Is she adjusting them or just clicking to track her pain?
