It’s hard to watch but at the same time it’s even harder to watch someone die

That has to be the most terrifying feeling, knowing you're responsible for someone's life and ability to breathe. Respect❤

My daughter wears a medical bracelet because her skull and vertebrae are fused.
Her bracelet says
DIFFICULT AIRWAY USE GLIDE SCOPE
then it identifies her condition

I had to be intubated as I was getting an endoscopy. I turned blue and stopped breathing. This scares me. I didn't realize how much goes into an intubation. I do know that evening when I got home and the next day I was in so much pain! Omg, my neck felt like someone tried to choke me and I couldn't swallow for a while. It was very uncomfortable. I'm grateful for the anesthesiologist, doctor, and nurses that helped me.

I just tried to hold my breath through that whole video and I couldn’t 😢 it’s amazing how our bodies are still able to stay alive with the help of others. So scary! God bless doctors.

There are times when my heart rate gets over 200... usually, there are a few doctors in, like five or six nurses. For me, it doesn't feel like anything. Cause my heart's going so fast, but they move imperfect rhythm. The doctors and nurses. I just watch the doctor tell them what to do, and they're putting the I v in each arm.I just watch like wow. These people are talented.

That was s shocking intubation, you never take your eyes off the bougie as you thread the ET..and that fulcrum on the teeth is not necessary

I stopped breathing seconds after I got to the ER. Watching this is interesting.
I was in an induced coma for two weeks.
They had to strap me down because I had pulled the tubes out twice.

I've seen this process actually results on quite some bleeding. After thats done, x ray techs are called to make sure the breathing tube was placed correctly and we got there as theh were finishing up, nurses had blood over it, the tube had a lot of blood in it the bed, patient and sheets were covered in blood. We don't know how it got so bloody becuase we got there when they were almost done

I am an RN thinking about going to CRNA school. This both terrifies and enthralls me.

I honestly thought the bed could have come up a bit. Also they couldve placed a towel under the patients neck without the doctor having to apply Cricoid pressure himself while attempting to intubate. So many things done right but could have been better. Bougie introduced at the right time without attempting to intubate 5 times (which some do)
