I use runflat tires. The risk of explosion is much lower, the repair is the same as with a normal tire, the ride is a little stiffer, the consumption is a little higher because they are a little heavier, it is worth it if the car is also driven by the wife :) . The prices depend on the manufacturer, but a good tire will cost anyway... Have a good day!

You can plug and patch run flats like normal tires. As long as you don't drive it with low pressure for too long which is what happens when you use the run flat feature lol. The side wall becomes compromised and no credible shop will risk the insurance claim to repair them after that. The manufacturer gets to say the car gets 4mpg more on highway by not putting a spare and jack in. 15 min to swap a spare turns into a flatbed tow to avoid buying a $300-$450 tire.

there is one more benefit on some cars, most cars with run flats also tell you which tire is flat. this probably isn’t true but idk much about cars

I didn't have run flat tires on my Porsche Macan Turbo. Within 18 months, I had three flat tires from normal street/highway driving and was immediately stranded. My new car has run flats. Get the run flats people.

Okay, if you’ve run a tyre flat whether it’s a run flat or a regular tyre it’s gonna have to be replaced. Running a tyre flat causes irreparable damage to the inside of the tyre. With the case of run flats it’s worse. The tyre may look okay but the sidewalls may be severely damaged and you might not know anything about it. I don’t repair run flat tyres. I also loathe dealing with run flats, only tyre fitters will understand why….. 😅😅😅

Damn, my steering were slanting to the right side. I thought my car allignment were off, but actually, my rear left side tyre is leaking air, and it is runflat tyre which i did not aware off, hell yeah. Does not feel like im driving flat tyre tho.. but the price to change one. OMG. Absurb

U r right, I got it on my BMW x5 on highway but once I got tire shop to be told that they don't do this kind of tire 😂😢😂 shit....it was nightmare guys

Technically you can't "fix" run flat tire, you can only replace them.

Run flat tyres are awful they ruin the ride they make it harsh and choppy.
I changed my run flat tyres and bought a tyre inflation kit.
Ive only had two punctures in 40 years as an ex car technician once a runflat gets punctured they are ruined.
