Cops reactions vary greatly when you challenge their authority. Depending on the officer this could have gone very differently.

The officer was really respectful, and as were you as well. This is how interactions with police and citizens need to go every time. Respect on both sides

All you have to do is remind these cops that they are only allowed to stop you for a "reasonable" amount of time to ask questions. Thank them for the question and politely ask to be on your way. You don't have to answer shit.

'blood draw' requires a search warrant signed by a judge, btw, that's why courts are usually open late during these kinds of 'mass public raids' or 'checkpoints'.

"have you had anything to drink tonight?" shoulda said yes, and after the breathalyzer or whatever when he asks why you said you were drinking, tell him you said you were drinking but he never asked what i was drinking.
