What is the future of UK after Brexit?

2016 was a momentous year in Britain.

In June, the UK surprised Europe by voting in a referendum to leave the EU.

Prime Minister David Cameron resigned and was replaced by Theresa May, who says she will start the formal process of Britain's withdrawal from the EU by the end of March 2017.

So what will happen to the UK in the coming year? And six months later, how do people who voted in the referendum feel?

Al Jazeera’s Barnaby Phillips reports from Edinburgh.

There will be a period of adjustment, but the long-term future should be good. The English-speaking countries need to hang together. Unity with Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States is more valuable than unity with mainland Europe. I don’t have any ill will toward Europe, I just don’t see why UK should be a part of the EU.

Yes... lets stop all this unity stuff n kick em all out. Instead of a global world economy lets pave the way for WW3 so we can cry about something new.

If England had a vote to kick Scotland out of the uk i'm sure me and many others woulddo, it was only last year they were voting to become independent themselves and they couldn't manage that theye'd have been out of the e.u then so what's changed ?

I don't think there should be a second referendum for Scottish It's probably best of if we stick together as one nation

Liam Fox in 2012: “To restore competitiveness we must begin by deregulating the labour
market. Political objections must be overridden. It is too difficult to
hire and fire, and too expensive to take on new employees, ” he wrote in a
comment piece for the Financial Times.
Fox praised the current
austerity policy for reassuring Britain’s creditors and investors, but
he warned that if labour market regulations were not eased, emerging
economies, such as India and China, would continue to gain a competitive
advantage over the UK.

Regardless of politics and ideology, Britain is becoming poorer in a very fast pace. Like it or not, if the British people, particularly youth can stand a severe poverty hit for a certain long period of time, it might catch a chance much later.
Make no mistake, most European countries are facing this fate. Only Britain dares to take it fast and rebouce maybe in due time.

Only the English will win if Scotland leaves.
