Does a sociopath know they are a sociopath?

My Ex husband was diagnosed with NPD and ASPD. His mask fell the day his secret life was discovered
4 years later, I still have triggers from the trauma he inflicted. He never physically abused me. The sadistic emotional abuse caused our 2 dogs to be traumatized
To this day, my dog is terrified of men with Grey hair. I will spend the rest of my life helping others to recognize the red flags of psychopathy.

Not all sociopaths harmed animals as kids but some do. They may have no actual juvenile court record. But, they may have caused problems for others, may have lied a lot, maybe they were a bully. Don't be fooled by lack of stereotypical past record.

My brother self-diagnosed as a sociopath at a very young age. And he's correct. He is a sociopath.

My cousin was a sociopath that knew that he was....he hurt people and killed animals. He ended up committing suicide when he was 49 years old.

I Know a lifelong sociopath who has ruined her mother’s life. The mom is super codependent and the daughter just keeps on going. She is now actively grooming her son to take care of her when the mom passes.
Nothing can be done and I am a witness.

I have one on me everyday for the last 10 to 12 years. He hurts me just because he thinks it is funny. He doesn't understand how deeply wrong he is, he truly does not know how much he hurts all of the people he knows. He has stolen so much of my money, property, beating up my cats and scamming me online.

I dont know what I am... Ive hurt animals many times as a kid. It slowed down as I got older. I still feel like hurting animals from time to time, but I stop myself now. Never act on it like when I was a kid. And I found out now why I am so exhausted everyday. Because I put this "heavy" "mask" everyday. I say "heavy" because its 360° from my real self. If i dont wear that mask, i cannot sustain any relationships, cant have friendships, cant have jobs. No one will like my real self cause deep down I dont care one bit about anybody. My niece fell off the bed once and had a neck injury. She fell when I had my "mask" off. I saw the moment she fell. How she fell. I didnt even react. Face was frozen with 0 emotions. When other people were panicking, then I join them... I think there is something wrong with me.

I hurt kids when I was young but then stopped after a few years
