As soon as i clicked on the video, 10 seconds in and i find myself looking at the comments. Didn't even realise it, its like an automatic reflex action at this point. So i have decided to write this, stop and go back to the video, if you're here in between. Complete and come back. I'm proud of you if you have completed it.

Why is this not taught in school? This is so valuable.

The world will be a better place with these lessons.

What society lacks the most are wisdom and courage. Mainly justice, to place thought and action aligned with the common good.

"Being a man means taking care of people." (I also like Kinzinger's "defending the defenseless".) YES! Thank you, Ryan. Your voice is extremely important in this conversation. I hope you will continue to discuss masculinity in 2025.

To be humble, kind, self-disciplined, unafraid of strenuous or arduous endeavors, curious rather than conceited, and of benefit to others, generally, while overcoming greed, envy, vanity, and quickness of temper, overcoming self-centeredness and fragility, all of this is in service to becoming a person of character, regardless of sex or gender.

The most pervasive mistake in the modern rediscovery of Hellenistic philosophy is putting any sort of masculinist capture around Stoicism.

Thank you Ryan. I started studying Stoicism back around the time you wrote The Obstacle Is The Way. Thank you for staying on the path of virtue for ourselves and those around us.

This is focused to young men, but I have to argue that it is relevant to all men who are aware that they are still growing, learning, improving, and understanding. Could be 20, could be 60. Doesn’t matter. It is never too late to make a difference for the better in your life and the lives of others.

Thank you for sharing such profound insights! The way you break down Stoic principles makes them not only relatable but also truly inspiring. It reminds me that embracing challenges can lead to incredible personal growth. I'm feeling so encouraged to apply these lessons in my own life!

Absolutely loved this video. It spoke to me, even as a young women. Every one applied to me and I appreciate you mentioning this topic isn't about gender. It's about becoming a better human. So I'm glad I got over my fear of not fitting into the demographic you were aiming for ❤ my masculine qualities can be fostered in a positive and healthy, stoic way 😊

This serves as a great start in the anti-serum needed to rid the men's improvement movement of the red-pill grifters. Cheers, Mr. Holiday, your work is changing the world for good.

Ryan never lets us down. He is proof that we can look up to someone speaking here. He reminds us who the real men are and separates them from those who are merely man-children, showing who truly should hold the power

I think we’ve reached a point where these principles need to be taught in school. Not enough of us adopt them as adults.

I agree, it’s okay to feel your emotions. Enjoy them if they are good, feel them if they bad, but never believe them. Logic is the only guide to action.

10:11 this segment resonates with me currently, anger ruins a lot of things in life, it takes away from enjoyment of the present and blinds us to reason. Controlling it and not taking it out on others (verbally) seems almost superhuman to me, but it is a daily, if not constant, choice I am coming to realize.
