H1B Visa Latest Update: Now, the spouses of H-1B Visa Holders can work in the United States. Save For Jobs USA had filed a lawsuit against employment authorization cards given to spouses of certain categories of H-1B visa holders in the Obama era. But the US District Judge Tanya Chutkan dismissed this lawsuit. Tech giants like Amazon, Apple, Google, and Microsoft had opposed the lawsuit as a large part of their workforce consists of spouses of H-1B workers. The US has so far issued nearly 1,00,000 work authorizations for spouses of visa holders. In 2015, the Obama administration introduced a rule that allowed spouses of H-1B visa holders to work in the US under certain conditions.
