Hats off to whoever figured out how to represent it like this

On displays with a fixed refresh rate, a frame can only be shown on the screen at specific intervals, evenly spaced apart. If a new frame is not ready when that interval arrives, then the old frame is held on screen until the next interval (stutter) or a mixture of the old frame and the completed part of the new frame is shown (tearing). Conversely, if the frame is ready before the interval arrives, then it won't be shown until that interval arrives. A major purpose of variable refresh rates is the elimination of stutters and tearing by keeping refresh rates in sync with a varying frame rate from a video game. This makes display motion more smooth despite a varying frame rate.

You should add output resolution of 1440p in PS5 it would great for monitor and it just only changes output resolution so it's not that complicated to implement, will help lot's of monitor users

Nice,
fyi: VRR reduces or eliminates lag, judder and frame tearing for more fluid and better detailed gameplay.

I'll admit the lightning load speeds are what I love

Sony please add LFC.. WAY too many games are well under the 48hz minimum VRR rate, and modern freesync monitors can compensate for this.
XBOX series X has it. Why doesn't PS5? Any 4K games, I go straight for Xbox version as it stands, cause VRR works all the way down to 30 FPS!

If you guys add it to HDMI 2.0 Monitors along with 1440P support that would be great! 😃

Dear Sony. *PLEASE* give love to the 1440p community.

1440p 120Hz is supported with HDMI 2.0. VRR is *completely possible* with HDMI 2.0, you just refuse to support 1440p screens. You already render a lot of your games at 1440p during performance modes, and upscale them to 4K, PLEASE just support non-4K displays with VRR. More people have 1080p-1440p 120+Hz screens than 4K 120Hz screens.

"Play has no limits" *except requiring HDMI 2.1*

It's been a few weeks with my brand new PS5 and I must say that the experience is great!

Thanks for implementing VRR! Would be really great if Sony could get the threshold of VRR down to 40fps instead of 48fps. Would help with some of the larger frame stutters of Eldenring for sure.

It would be even cooler if they could refresh their stock so I could buy one

Recently I played Ghostwire Tokio and it had HFR mode that allowed me to enable ray tracing and high frame rate when available. Of course the frame rate drops when so many things happen in the screen but that kind of option is what I want in every other games in my ps5. nice move sony

besides stock it would be nice if a product that had 4k 120hz in big colors would actually have 4k 120hz

Loving the VRR on playstation 5 with Ratchet and Clank and the Spider-Man series. Absolutely opens your eyes to capture the details in these games with these higher frames. Hope to see it more on day 1 release PS5 exclusive games

For those who need to know how to get this feature. Switch ur HDMI cable to the HDMI 2.1 port since it’s only on HDMI 2.1

What we need is 1440p support and I’m happy.

Please add native 1440p support. PS5 hardware seems ideal for a smooth 1440p experience
