Bro wants you to buy a monitor more expensive than your console 💀

Just so everyone knows, you DO NOT need 2.1 for PS5. I have the Alienware 3423DWF (HDMI 2.0) and it does 1440p 120hz full VRR support. Its amazing!

GUYS THIS IS OUTDATED INFORMATION. YOU DO NOT NEED HDMI 2.1 FOR 1440p VRR SUPPORT YOU CAN GET 120fps IN 1440p WITH HDMI 2.0

Casually suggesting a monitor that’s more expensive than the console 😂😢. I can’t wait for these newer 120hz 4K hdmi 2.1 monitors to be affordable to the masses of the console market

No. As only Spider-Man games, ratchet and clank, Uncharted 4 and TLOU remake use 120hz. TBH some games have downgraded visual quality with 120z. 60hz is more than enough for story based games.

I can’t believe HDMI is still a thing. TVs and consoles need to quit only having HDMI and start working with DisplayPort. They’re holding back the entire industry.

For the lack of confusion, hdmi 2.1 is recommended for 4k 120hz max on ps 5 and capable monitors or oled tvs and is backward compatible to lower refresh rates 4k 60, Native 1440p 120/60m, 1080p/i, 720. The new sony update support has unlock native 1440p 120 hz vrr specifically to gaming monitors.

You just Need HDMI 2.1 for 4K 120hz but for 1080p/1440p 120hz you Need just a HDMI 2.0 or a HDMI 1.4

I have a question if someone could help me. I’m deciding on a monitor for my PS5, it’ll have AMD FreeSync Pro but the issue is I found articles/reddit comments saying that PS5 doesn’t even support FreeSync, and only VRR. I don’t get what works and what doesn’t so could someone help me?

Hey, I have an issue with my ps5. I have a 165 hz monitor, Have performance mode on, 120hz output on automatic, and it won't work. And no it's not to do with my monitor not supporting Hdmi 2.0, because when my friend connects his, with the same hdmi cord, It works on 120hz. Note: He has a playstation 5 with a disc drive, and I have the digital version. This is become an annoying issue

Is the hdmi cable that comes with the ps5 a 2.0?
At 120 it looks like ps4 graphics just smoother
Edit: 4k 120 is not possible on ps5
Maxes out at 1440p 120 fps or 4k 60 fps
I do have a 4k resolution 120 hz refresh rate tv (LG UQ867590PUD)
I have a jsaux 8k uhd hdmi 2.1 cable
I have a ps5 (did all the settings needed in the console)
My tv has hdr, allm, vrr
I enabled super resolution to high (did nothing imo)
Sometimes my video output signal in the console will say im doing 3840x2160-120 hz but it still looks like 2560x1440-120 hz
If I did have 4k 120 fps the 4k in 120 looks nothing like it does on 60 fps

What if you use a hdmi 2.1 to usb-c 3.1 cable on a portable gaming monitor. The ps5 has around 30gbps and the USB 3.1 around 40gbps
