PS5 MAJOR VRR UPDATE IS HERE! (Variable Refresh Rate)

The Update we all have been waiting for is finally here. PS5 has full support VRR for HDMI 2.1 Displays, but for some reason doesn't seem to work on my monitor which should support VRR. Anyways its here and that's all that matters. With this new addition of VRR Games now can go upto 120fps in games such as Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and other games which are VRR Compatible.

thanks for making this video. i thought i was crazy trying this on 3 different monitors. they need to have a solution like the xbox series consoles has. i get that the monitors that i have are based on hdmi 2.0, but still the pc and xbox consoles sync up no problem (the monitors all support both gsync and free sync premium pro +)

the same here .my monitor is asus VG289Q1A 4K 60HZ even with AMD freesync on the ps5 video output information show that vrr not supported.

asus have yet to release 42in oled with 2.1 until then i cant use the vrr feature on the ps5, i currently have a monitor that is 2.0 supports vrr but sony is leaving us in tbe dust

The blog specifically states that VRR is supported “on HDMI 2.1-compatible TVs and PC monitors.” It's unfortunate since HDMI 2.0 is also compatible with VRR.

My TV supports VRR and I enabled it in PS5 settings, but my game mode display shows "VRR off" still... weird

do your monitor have HDMI 2.1 having problems with mines try it on a 2.0 and 2.1 hdmi monitor manage to get it to show on 1 monitor but the screen turns black

Freesnyc monitors r meant for vrr but sony doesn’t support them since they r making u need hdmi 2.1 🤦‍♂️

if you guys are playing the ps5 on tv, then your tv needs hdmi 4 to enable vrr or just use a 2.1 hdmi cable

This is ridiculous and makes no sense. On my Series S, i can set it to 4k HDR with VRR enabled with NO issue using my HDMI 2.0 cable. But suddenly when using PS5, I can’t even do 1080p SDR with VRR unless i have HDMI 2.1???

Try to set the ps5 resolution to 1080p and enable freesync in your monitor settings.

It’s so freaking dumb. I got a Asus Vg279Q that runs at 1080p 144hz with freesync. I don’t plan on upgrading Because I prefer frames over my resolution. But I still think freesync should be supported. I lost a lot of trust in Sony holding this vrr back from a lot of people

Is your BenQ monitor actually VRR or Freesync? I don't think the PS5 supports freesync type of vrr.

This is for LG SONY TV owners, no Monitor fans. Sony wants to sell TVS. btw this is HDMI VRR NOT FREESYNC like Xbox
