I sometimes go to an all women's swim class at my local gym and I wear a long sleeved swimsuit which is perfect for me.What's really nice to see is a lot of the non religious women there wear the same, just for no other reason than that they want to be a little modest, and unfortunately as some have admitted to me, they get weird looks if they cover like that at a regular, mix gendered pool, and that's just really sad tbh

I saw a person at the water park yesterday and they were wearing a hijab when we got up there they made her take it off they understood it was culture but it truly was a saftey issue if it fell off it would cover her face and probably waterboard her but the best thing was that when she did EVERY man looked away including the employees

This is the highest maintenance religion ever. I grew up jumping in lakes wearing shorts and a tshirt. There was absolutely nothing immoral about it. Thanks for sharing your incredible obstacles and how you manage to swim within them. Certainly not an easy task.

As children, we skinny dipped. As a teenager and younger woman, i wore bathing suits designed for swimming as i swam across small lakes and through ocean surf. As i got older, i started wearing more cover ups because I felt self-conscious about my sags and wrinkles. When i moved to my new place, I learned of a nearby nude beach. So, now i have come full circle and rediscovered the bliss of sun, waves and wind against my skin. There is nothing sexual about being at one with Nature, and growing old is a privilege to be cherished.

I'm not muslim but a bigger woman. I recently learned about modest swimwear and I was SO happy to find some in my size! I feel so comfortable in it!

So many rules and things that have to be checked off just to have a little fun. After all that work I wouldn’t even want to swim anymore. Usually when people go to pool they are more focused on themselves and family and want to have fun so you would think that’s one place you can just relax but it seems like a whole full job just to go swim 😔

I lived in Clearwater beach, saw a Muslim woman go in with all the garb they wear, husband stood watching as she nearly drowned, didn’t move a finger. Life guards struggled to bring her back to shore
