I'm an electrician in an area with a large Muslim population. I'm pretty used to having to wait a couple minutes after knocking on the door for them to get ready. It's no big deal.

I was confused for a moment about the electrician being there, I was like “wait but your hair is covered…?” Then I realized that the hood was just symbolizing to us a scenario in which she had nothing on her head😅 duh 😅

Suggestion from an Orthodox Jewish woman (married women cover their hair): Place headcoverings in strategic places all over the house and remember where they are. 1 on a shelf by the front door, 1 at the entrance to the main hallway, 1 in the kitchen, etc. That way you can quickly grab one if someone comes in unexpectedly or if you have to answer the door quickly--suggested by a rabbi's wife before I got married.

As a Christian person, I love learning about other religions.

786 Cosmetics gets their halal certification from an organization called the IDCP (Islamic Dawa Council of the Philippines). Their halal certificate on their website states that the formula is only certified for ingredients and manufacturing process - but not actual water permeability.

I love watching your videos! Unfortunately, when starting to learn about the Middle East I had the same teacher for 3 years who was so against anyone who wasn’t Christian, I subconsciously picked that up. I’m unlearning my biases, and your videos help me understand more about Islam, as well as helping me be more open to other religions and cultures. Thank you for what you do!

They don't even warn me when people come visit. I hear the door open and have to speedrun to my room. I'm pretty sure I set a record every time it happens

The electrician one is so relatable. We had a Muslim family in my building when I was resident manager and I convinced the lady I wouldn't be offended if she just slipped the rent cheque under the door and I would slip the receipt back under the door so she didn't have to cover up when I came. It really wasn't a problem. They were a very nice family.

I had a friend who was Muslim and wore a hijab, one time we were doing sport and it got loose and I spotted her hijab coming off, I threw my jacket on her and took her to the bathroom, pretty sure I'm the only one who helped her and didn't look at her when her hair came out

I grew up in a fairly rural area in Indiana where we have quite a few Amish and Mennonite families - I even had a couple Old OrderAmish kids in school with me. (The strict Old Order folks drive horse and plain, uncovered buggy year round, rain, snow, or sunshine. No cars, no electricity, no phones.) There are MANY different levels of strictness and interaction with non-Amish folks, plus every one of their church districts has slightly different rules of modesty, conformation, separation.

This sparked my curiosity about religious views and clothing/modesty differences.
A separate branch of my family is Mormon - that's been another learning experience about these things. Lots of curiosity - but I also want to show respect and acceptance.

The last one is so relatable especially when your Pakistani and you have an army coming over (aka lots of family) and you are the only one who can't pray and everyone gives you a questionnaire at salah time 😂😂
