Also as a Muslim woman I just want y'all to know that not everyone Muslim woman is the same. I'm Muslim but I'm not as strict or as religious as she is. I was raised in a very strict religious environment. There were many rules for women, and a few for men. I would have told you that it was “my” choice, because I believed that’s what God wanted me to do. I’m thankful I realized it was men’s interpretation. I’m thankful for the freedom to know that God loves me without all those rules.

I’ve always been a little confused about not being friends with the opposite sex. I mean, I can grasp not choosing to hang out with someone of the opposite sex, but there are different levels and kinds of friendship. I can’t imagine not considering the spouse of a good friend also a friend. Definitely a different type of friendship! But still someone who I care about because I care about my friend.
