Just jump to the conclusion: 1350-1450 Km in real life driving conditions such as air-con etc. This is still very impressive.

Basically, it means I can make a back and forth trip between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo with 1 tank of gas and still have some fuel to have fun inside the city. It really beats my Civic LXS for a great margin.

I've already bought this car; with a full charge, it can travel about 2000 kilometers. I almost forgot when the last time I charged it was.

I reckon Chinese government should revise their driving range measurement system. I think they should set up a much tougher and higher benchmarks. I want China to be a country that setting the standard for everyone to follow. So that in the not too distant future hopefully the "Chinese standard, benchmark, quality” is something that becomes a common phrase.

You are basically climbing from China's east coast into mountains in the middle west. You should at least drive it back on the same road to calculate the total MPG

Highways cost much more fuel than low-speed city roads for electric and hybrid cars. This car can definitely go ~2000km if only used in city.

2, 000km in a single tank and single fully charged battery is insane! this will save me a lot of gas money if it is available in my country. I normally fuel up weekly with about 400km range, this can make me go 1 month plus without refuelling it's insane!

Not bad, recently did a trip to Shanghai in a Chinese Cayenne 2.0 e-Hybrid. EV range is about 55-60km. I managed to do 5.8l/100, 800km trip. On the way back had 0% juice in the battery and did about 9.5l/100. Huge difference between hybrid and petrol only mode.

Great review, BYD is really improving the hybrid tech. I recently got a Song Plus 1.5T with single emotor. In my personal test with a 90% city usage and 10% in highway the car was able to get 740km with an estimated left range of 140km with a single tank. A 880km range is about 80% of the claimed 1, 100km in real city usage. I can extrapolate the results to this new generation and would get around 1800km effective range in real conditions. Figures match with your test since highway usage is clearly more demanding than pure city. I’m already feeling I should have waited for this new version lol …

BYD YangWang U8 SUV is a hybrid but the gas engine (2.0 liter 200 whp) are not connected to any wheels, U8 has four 300 whp each wheel electric motors and run by battery while the battery are charge by gas engine generator, also it has a charging port of both AC and DC, the next version of U8 SUV has also regenerative electric motors each wheel to recover battery energy during free wheeling run, also built-in solar panel at the roof and hood, it can float in water (IPX 6.8) and turn around 360 degrees within its position like a war tank, this U8 SUV has no comparison anywhere in the world in features, specs and performance and less than the price of Land Rover Defender
