UBS launched a project that would tear down and study electric vehicles from suppliers around the world. In September of 2023, they took apart the Seal, a high-tech offering from BYD that is aimed at the mass market.

Their findings are bad news for legacy carmakers, especially in Europe.

A reporter asked a BYD official if they have plan to set up factory in US. the official said no. then the reporter asked why and the official said it's too complicate to do business in US. 😁😁

India ordered X number of EV buses from BYD. BYD demanded 100% payment upfront.

BYD is a quick learner.

I was skeptical when I ordered a Chinese made small cordless saw. The saw package came with 2 batteries, 1 spare chain, 1 oil can, 1 pair of gloves, 1 eye protector, and a tool box. I am very gladI didn't have to pay exhorbitantly for the entire kit.

that's the reason behind Yellen's China overcapacity campaign.

50 years ago I remember carrying cooking oil and used clothing to my distant relatives from HK to China. Some can only eat meat once a month if lucky. Working hard was the only way out and 50 years later, the Chinese are caught up and most live a decent lifestyle. So unless European countries realize and admit this fact and are willing to roll up their sleeves now. Give up some vacation time and put that towards making new stuff and charge less to sell to the rest of the world, I can't imagine the trouble they'll be in in 5 years.

As the largest oil importer, China will unswervingly develop electric vehicles, even though the West still insists on ICE vehicles.
Like China, many countries in the world are short of oil. Even if there is no environmental pressure, people will be happy to buy electric cars.

Who doesn’t want affordable and reliable car unless you’re a millionaire with money to spend. Some people have to work two jobs to survive. I would buy a BYD rather than a Tesla.

I'M an American and would love the US market sell BYD NIo XPENG etc! The tech innovation on Chinese evs is advance and affordable at $30k. The BYD Seagull $11k. vs US $70K. But, our protectionist US regime w/ fake capitalism is to scared of competition. Hurts consumers.

I think a US company on YouTube also reviewed the BYD seal and is doing a tear down. The reviewers were shocked by how good the car was for 10k

Twenty years ago China went down the path of developing EVs to meet two goals, solve city pollution problems coming from the ICEs and to overtake the automobile industry with the new EVs. Looks like China achieved both goals brilliantly.

So Western brands are losing the market because they have a more expensive product, which is not better than the Chinese one.

"Build Your Dreams" or BYD is growing rapidly in Laos, Thailand and possibly Vietnam (will see soon). Their vehicles are attractive, functional and affordable. There are many charging stations as well.

Is there any limit to their ‘xenophobia’? 😂😂😂. Why can’t they simply digest and accept that other nations and cultures have been around here for

That's how free market should work. Free competition leads to cheaper and better products being produced for the benefit of all customers globally.
