Complete tricep tear

In May of 2016, I completely tore my tricep tendon off the elbow. I had been dealing with extreme elbow pain for almost a year. I figured I could work through the pain by doing pause bench presses. So, I started doing those for a few weeks in May. The week before this video, I pause pressed 365 for five reps, so I knew I had 405. for at least one rep. The irony is, I don't usually video my gym time. I wanted to this particular day to show people I once did this in case the day came when I couldn't do it anymore. Well, this was the day I tore it. It felt like the bones broke out of my elbow. The funny thing is, the elbow that gives out is NOT the one that tore. My left tricep tore. Anyway, I was fortunate/unfortunate enough to get it on video. So here it is. I can return to lifting full power on 10/6/16. In PT now for the 7th week. The long road to recovery continues, and I will come back bigger and stronger than before. I guarantee that.

Why, why do I read the title, and think to myself, "Why yes I'd like to watch this."

Oh man, you can HEAR it tearing, and that's disgustingly awesome! Good luck on your recovery though!

I'm lucky that I will never be strong enough for this to happen to me

Top tip - When your arms are shaking like that before you start the movement it’s your nervous system telling you it’s too heavy.

To everyone: (since OP didn't answer previous questions about natty status) This guy is most likely running gear and pushed his tendons beyond their limit. This is super rare for a natural lifter whose muscle and tendon strength are equal.

I watch these weightlifting muscle tearing type videos out of the corner of my eye. I’ve never done that with any horror movie or anything else 😂

Arms shaking like crazy was the first sign of it being a bit heavy for him.

This is the reason I never hit my one rep max.

I’ve always heard about snap city. But this is my first time actually hearing snap city.

I don’t know why I watch these videos. I’m in pain even though it’s not happening to me.

0:25 That spotter watched perfectly how he was able to rack the bar by his left side to then focus on leaning his body to the right side holding 405lbs and saving that guys life

Makes me incredibly sad when it happens to a man with so much dedication... I also know these types of men never give up and always come back. Be careful everyone but don't live your life in fear either!

Why do I see literally ZERO COMMENTS about how he doesn't have his thumbs AROUND THE BAR!!?? We have opposable thumbs for a reason. He was creating an instable base of grip at the bar.
