Hi Friends! 🌈🦋 Something I need to add: *I am 5'3 (161cm) and 50kg (110lbs)* . I have a sedentary job, so I like to "workout or exercise" 30-60 minutes 6 days per week (easy-moderate-difficult intensity, with a mix of cardio based and strength based). My Garmin watch says I burn about 2000-2200 calories each day . So YES you can be a small sedentary woman and eat over 2000 calories! As I said, *I've been regularly eating 2000-3000 calories for YEARS now and maintaining my body* 💪😁

You are one of my the best inspiration in my ed recovery. #16monthInRec It is very slowly process (BUT IS WORTH IT) to lose weight. I lost 7kg in 5 months, when I eat what I want #plantbaseddiet <3 Thank you so much!

I’m 5’5 and 170 lbs.... still need to lose about 30 lbs... been at a stall for like 2 years just yo-yoing the same 10 lbs over and over. I had my RMR tested and it’s 1240 calories and 1480 IF I am fairly active. This is so difficult for me. I naturally only eat 2 meals a day. I can eat my first meal and it’s about 600 calories of WFPB foods and 7 hours later I’m still not even hungry for dinner and have to force myself to eat my second meal just to get 1200 calories in. I can’t even imagine eating 2000 calories of WFPB foods. What can I do to get through this plateau??? Should I just listen to my hunger cues and not eat if I’m not hungry? I don’t want to be nutrient deficient but I’m also not trying to force food into myself and gain weight with this slow metabolism. This is so frustrating. I feel so stuck!

I am pretty sure if you eat 1500-1800 calories to loose weight quicker than .25 pounds a week... you can reintroduce calories SLOWLY back in a week at a time and your metabolism will adapt. (i.e. increase calories by 50-100/week)

If I’m not exercising at all, literally laying around al day, not even walking, 5’3, is 1600 calories still too low? I saw Brenda Davis recommended 160-1800 for “small framed” people for weight loss

Does this apply to people like me whose 80 pounds overweight? I need to lose fat and don't have the best hunger signals from over eating

well yes if you're the average height and weight...if you're small probably not...I'm 5 feel 0 and weigh 105 pounds...no way I can eat 2000- 2500 calories...I can't imagine my small body needing that much...I'm pretty ok with 1700- 1800

Can you make video about cardio vs weight lifting for health and weight loss?

Hey there. I've been following you for a while and I love watching your videos. I feel like I needed to hear what you were saying. I'm not against cleanses or anything because I feel like I benefit from them and I'm more energetic and productive when I'm not focused on food so much (I do them once a year). But on a daily, I eat around 1900-2200 calories a day on a plant based diet mostly raw, rarely ever anything processed and on 10-25% fat. But I keep gaining weight. I feel like something is wrong with my body. I gain weight sooo easily and it's so frustrating. I'll never restrict to 1500cal or starve myself - I know I would only hurt my body in the long term. But I wonder why I keep gaining weight and why I'm always so bloated. It makes me feel very uncomfortable. I don't work out too much, maybe once or twice a week, but I try to walk 10.000 steps a day. Any idea why my body can't find its healthy weight? (I'm 5'8 and weight between 63-68KG). Thanks <3

But the things you eat are salad, veggies and fruits high in water and stuff like cucumber. The only actual calories you consume are bananas and avocado sometimes and that’s massively restrictive

Hi Brittany, thanks for the great video! 🙂I also endorse the approach to weight loss/maintenance that you present here. 👏🏼Unlimited caloric intake whilst honouring true hunger and satiety cues has been working for me so far on a very high carbohydrate, very low fat, entirely plant-based diet (dried figs, dates, white potatoes, fresh fruit, brown rice, non-starchy vegetables). Although I really enjoy my diet, do you think this calorie-neutral approach can work for vegans out there who prefer to eat lots of fat-rich plant-based foods (eg, oils, avocado, nut butters, seed butters, whole nuts, whole seeds, coconut meat, tofu, etc.) as well as non-vegans eating the standard Western dietary pattern? Thanks.
