Raspberry Pi 400 -- specifications and demo of the new, faster, keyboard-encased Raspberry Pi 4.

The Raspberry Pi 400 featured in this video was supplied before launch by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The video has therefore been flagged as a "paid promotion", as I received something "of value from a third party" that allowed me to make the video ahead of the product launch.

My “Raspberry Pi 4 Week” video is here:

Also my “Raspberry Pi Servo Motor Control” video is here:

You nailed it...this is the classic all-in-1 Sinclair, C64, Trs-80, Atari, TI99 etc form factor in a modern package...take it out the box, plug it in to your tv and you got a complete computer...and cheap as chips :0)

"If you're like me, don't worry they have medicine for it" that made it worth the watch alone lol

7:40 "let's see that wifi is working and... yes we can see that we get to the world's favorite website".
Very smooth 👌 😎

Someone please explain to me why technical channels, such as this one, consistently get downvotes on their videos? The content is accurate, well-made, and interesting (to those of us that find the subject matter interesting), yet there's always downvotes. What are they finding exception to?

Mr. Barnatt, there's another impressive thing about this home computer, it's made in the UK.

I wish here in the US we had a company manufacturing home computers again.

Such a pity Commodore didn't survive it's crummy management team, they were literally just up the road from where I live (about an hour and half away).

Sure, we have Apple, but they think their poop doesn't stink and charge ten times the price for it...UGH.

--- and all their stuff is made in China.

This will be my first ever Raspberry Pi and my dad - a serial Raspberry Pi fanatic - recommended your video so I could get some familiarity with it before it arrives. Thank you for doing it, I feel a wee bit more confident now :)

11:51 Brilliantly summed up, Christopher. I'm an 'oldie' too and started off with a Sinclair Spectrum in 1983. At school we had a Research Machines 380Z, at college Commodore PET and RM Nimbus computers. The first computer I had a proper tutorial with in a classroom was a Tandy TRS80 at an event put on by Tandy in Birmingham city centre in about 1982/3. It's amazing how we've gone from little boxes (micro computers) to big boxes (PCs) back to little boxes (mobile computing and System On a Chip).
This Raspberry Pi 400 is an excellent present and is perfect for the lockdown!

This is definitely going on my wish list for the year. I'm old school also. First computer in our family was a VIC-20 then the C-128 (with built in C-64 emulator), and we had a ZX in our classroom plugged in to a small black and white television. So, this PC will take me back in time when you just turned the power on, and there it is!

Makes we want to tear my hair out when I think of schools in my country ordering tens of thousands of iPads for the pupils while they should buy THIS!!!

For anyone wanting to know the cooling solution is that the chip is thermally connected to the Metal Shield via a Thermal pad. This shield spans the length of the cases and should provide a decent amount of cooling.

FINALLY! Ever since the pi launched i've been hoping they would ship a version of the pi inside a keyboard. Partially for the convenience but also because it reminds me of computers like the commodore and others. I'm so happy to see this version launch. It could also do a lot for pi adoption as this is something you could easily give to someone as a simple linux computer.

I love the comparison to the ZX81. This is what started my interest in computing and I am still having fun using a Rasperry Pi 4 today.
