Released to parents for supervision?!! Doesn’t seem like he was supervised very well in the first place. SMDH

And yet, if it were the judge's kid, then it would be a different story.
Sad weak laws!

He should, AT THE BARE MINIMUM, be in Juvenile detention.

So, at 12, he didn't know what was going on, but he sure knew about guns and what to do with them... I call BS.

I have an almost 14 year old son and an almost 12 year old son. They BOTH know damn good and well that murder is not only illegal, it’s permanent. He is absolutely old enough to grasp exactly what he has done and he should at least be incarcerated until he is 21 without question. I’m sick of this “justice” system. He was “incompetent”? My ass. 🙄

This generation of parents are raising horrible people. They need to be held accountable for bad parenting, a lack of morals, and insufficient supervision. This has to stop.

This is USUALLY a bad choice that WILL encourage him to murder again. He should be detained in juvenile care for a couple of years with SUSTAINED therapy to give him a fighting chance at rehabilitation. I am telling you this is the wrong choice. I SEE THIS. The intervention here MUST BE DEVESTATINGLY CLEAR.

Released back to parents for supervision🤔🤔 so a child dies and it's all good. Like they aren't gonna reoffend, they just got away with murder. Disgusting.

How is 12 not old enough to understand murder is bad?

If he gets off lightly with no consequences, more than likely he’ll reoffend. Give him a few more years, he’ll be back in court. That judge needs to be removed. The judicial system is a joke. What a disgrace and slap in the face of the victim’s family. 🤔. The judge should be ashamed of himself.

So sad for the mom. 😔 May her child rest in peace. 🙏

He should have been tried as an adult and kept in custody. He is a danger to others.

At 14 I pushed my parent off me because they were beating me with a belt buckle, they ended up falling, and I got 2 weeks in juvenile detention.. but this child murders someone and gets probation? What kind of BS is this?

There’s kids who get sent to juvie until they’re 18 & this kid is allowed to be free after killing someone. The judge sent the wrong message, he’ll regret it when that boy is back in front of him for murder again!

No way 12 is old enough to know murder is bad wow so sad

His parents should be in prison while he is on “supervised “ probation! Judges need to start handing out sentences to parents.

13 year old Eric Smith spent 28 years behind bars for his murder, and this kid doesn't even go to jail. Who else thinks that is unfair?

There was no supervision in the first place, a child died, and now they want parents to supervise as his punishment….unbelievable

whats to dissuade other kids from going out and killing someone? this is ridiculous

That's ridiculous! When I was 12 I understood how serious murder is. I could understand if he was like 6 or 9 yrs old. But not almost 13. He knows what he did was wrong and he's getting away with it because of his age. Smh

A ridiculously light sentence- A life isn’t worth much anymore. Very angry. I pray for this grieving family and the anger they must feel about the unjust outcome🙏🏼
