Father, family arrested in abuse death of 12-year-old West Haven boy

The father, stepmother and brother of a 12-year-old were arrested on multiple child abuse felonies after the child died in the hospital with signs of a "prolonged pattern of abuse."

Shane Peterson, 46, faces multiple offenses including child abuse homicide, a first-degree felony and two counts of aggravated child abuse, second-degree felonies.

I went to school with Gaven. He was always happy having g a smile on his face. He always wore a jacket that is why nobody knew what was going on.

Isn't it fair to say that there is almost 100% likelihood that these adults were aware of the Chad Daybell sitch and the Ruby Franke case and would have understood the consequences of their actions...but even then...those examples weren't effective enough at deterring these monsters. There needs to be BIG and absolute consequences for these people now and going forward with a hope for a better deterrent.

Sounds very similar to what happened to a little boy in England UK, Daniel Pelka who was abused and starved to death in his family home at the hands of his own Mother and step father, again nothing was done and his cries fell on deaf ears.
