You know you're a bad person when your own mother isn't sad you're in prison for life.

Respect for his mom. She didn't act crazy or out of control. She knew how her son was and figured he would be better off behind bars. 👍👍

The keyword was “escalating”, what the judge is doing by re-sentencing him for life without parole is preventing more victims. So kudos

I am impressed his mom wasn't giving excuses about his son criminal lifestyle.

That has to be so hurtful to see the person that took your loved one's life just smiling...and you can't do shit about it!!!!😡😠😲😢

It's not unusual to smile when threatened, nervous or in an uncomfortable situation. Not everyone goes straight to screaming or crying, however you’ve seen him go through all the grieving process as well from crying, and confessing what more do you want for him?

If he doesn't care about his own case, why should society.

They smile because he's trying to be tough so he's reflecting the hate in the room, but tonight in his cell when they turn out the lights he'll be sobbing like a little baby, believe me, I've seen it.

When a mother gives up on her child you know there’s an irreversible problem. What a tragic ending for all involved.

When he’s 60 and he sees other lifers getting chances of parole this video will come back to haunt him as it’ll snuff out any chances of a future pardon.

I feel for his mother. It looks like she knew he had been destined for prison.

When your lawyer dresses like that, you know you’ll do hard time. Anyway, that guy deserves to rot in jail.

I worked as a juvenile officer during my 30 year career as a Texas Peace Officer. I can assure you these young people know exactly what they are doing when they do it. They play the system like a bass fiddle and use their youth as an excuse. They count on the system to be easy on them.

That murderer deserves to be in prison for life cause he's not going to stop you can see from his attitude

Smiling now, but in years to come when the reality of never going to a bar with friends, never finding love, never having children and having never achieved anything at all, sinks in, it wont be so funny.

I'm so glad he thinks the sentence is great, judging from his smile. At least we're all in agreement here.

He broke down and cried when he confessed to the detectives, mainly because they caught him. But no one knows how this quiet non assuming 16 year old could turn out to be a cold blooded killer with no remorse for his actions. All 5 of his shots did not miss the cop he murdered and class mates and people who knew him saw no outward signs to be alarmed of him. Some serious miss connect with empathy or reality had taken over this kid.
