I’ve seen this happen my childhood friend had severe dyslexia and she hated reading and now I’m so proud to say that she loves reading, she’s read 8 books over the past three years! I’m so proud of her and I hope she’s proud of herself ❤

See with my dyslexia I was lucky to learn ways to enhance my reading and writing by using technology. Use assistive technology in elementary school. I have a BA in English literature a masters of business and a doctorate in business. So, it is a matter of finding resources and easy ways to help like colored plastic slips to change the background to help reading.

I pushed myself through for the most part. At this point my dyslexia only becomes a problem when I'm tired or overstimulated. This last Sabbath at church I did scripture reading and midway through the words began swimming. I had to squeeze my eyes closed, take a breath then finish. It's not impossible, just difficult

Me, I would literally memorize the pages. I was going to read the night before.. if I didn’t, I knew I would embarrass myself. And this was in the 80’s and 90s before it was really recognized..

Aren't there a bunch of different types of dyslexia? Like my youngest sister, and my stepdad both have it, but different kinds... 😮

this why i hated reading (mostly in Spanish) so much? (I'm bilingual. i speak spanish like 70% of the time but i prefer reading in English)
