I have to re-read writing so often for the sake of actually comprehending what I read, which is a different thing, but still frustrating.

I don’t have dyslexia and I still have that problem sometimes. I can read a paragraph several times and not understand it. More so when tired or stressed

This is exactly I love the reading ruler in Kindle. It keeps me from skipping down the page. If I read past the bottom part of the ruler (there are two sides. One is the top, the other is the bottom), I force myself to look back between the lines, or away from the Kindle if it happens more and more.

When you read the last word that isn't covered, you slide the page down, then continue reading.

This makes far more sense to me now… as a person with ADHD who enjoys light reading, I just can’t make myself read for school assignments, it’s horrible, I feel like lite almost a burden to read for school assignments and it sucks, truly it does, so the phrase “the read is not reading” makes a lot of sense to me and it honestly feels like my day to day life sometimes, like I may not wanna read the email from a college I got, but I have to

I really want that swing. I’d be able to swing in the house, so I wouldn’t have to deal with bad weather when I want to swing but it’s raining or snowing. The only problem is that I have no clue where I would put it. All the space in the house has already been taken up by other things.

I am not diagnosed with dyslexia but I have my moments where comprehension just won’t comprehend when reading. In those moments I need to read the text a lot and take pauses to make sure everything clicks; and the worst part?! Reading is always draining for me even when I enjoy what I read and because of this, I don’t do books well, and prefer watching a video or visual novels because they have imagery and music to make the reading experience more pleasant.

I read sooo much fanfic on my phone but it's so hard to sit and read a book nowadays. I used to be a voracious reader but now it's such a struggle. However I have been reading The Locked Tomb Series out loud to my partner recently and we both had a great time. There's many new words in those books that we had to look up, which was neat. And I noticed sometimes my reading stopped working when I was tired, and sometimes I had to reread a paragraph to myself because I read it without absorbing anything I said.

I notice that it's much harder to read textbooks than it is to read novels. I can read a whole page without absorbing anything. That was really frustrating in college.😅

This happens to me. Some times it's because I'm thinking to myself about something unrelated while also reading. Other times, i zone out while reading. AuDHD is interesting.

Sometimes I read a whole paragraph that I can’t reread, but I actually only looked at the words with my eyes and they didn’t go beyond my eyes

I’m usually fine with reading (although I’ve stopped reading as much now so I’m a bit worse at it) but occasionally a paragraph doesn’t compute, but for me, it’s less of a light not turning on with the switch, but more the light being dim, or flickering

I dont have dyslexia, i think this is universal experience but like when u read, but forget to read.

I usually end up reading the words but I'm not reading the sentences basically I know what all the words mean I'm just not taking in and giving context to the words that are making a paragraph
