Been a type 1 since I was 15 months old. I’ve now had it for 39 years. I’ve never had a CGM before because of the cost. Thankfully my insurance started to cover CGMs, and my doc prescribed the G7. Holy crap, what a difference it makes in daily life. I’m having a lot more lows for this first week of wearing my G7, but I sure like being able to get a reading every second I want. My fingers are worn out from 4 decades of lancets tearing holes. This is already helping with healing my fingers. Get yourselves a CGM, my fellow types 1s. It makes a huge difference

Here in the US, I received an email from Dexcom a couple days ago stating that the G7 will be available to patients starting February 17th! ♥

May I please make a suggestion for the future? I'd like to see a comparison of how sensitive the G7/Libre 3 are to compression lows. Maybe having them both on the same arm and then pretending to sleep on your back or side and seeing how they are each impacted.

Thank you so much for always giving such in depth, honest, and informative analysis. Your videos have changed a lot about my type 1 care over the last couple years. After disappointment with the Freestyle Libre, I have loved the G6 for a couple years and am very excited for the G7 becoming available in the US.

I just switched from Libre2 to Dexcom G7 today. The G7 insertion and start up with the reader was so easy! So far I am super impressed with the G7! Thank you for all the information you gave in the videos, it really made things easier for me.

Watched this review before moving to the G7 - it was useful. BUT, I've been using the G7 for a few months now and I would tell every diabetic NOT to use the G7. It's terrible. Loses connectivity daily, rips out easily, overtape is useless. I get the full 10 day wear maybe 60% of the time. That means that for the other 40%, I have to go through the annoying process that Dexcom set up to get a replacement sent. They seem to have made it harder to get a replacement to cut down on the number they have to send. It's even hard to find technical support number anymore (not in the app or online...I had to google it). Makes sense, I guess, as I've talked to many, many diabetics who all do not like the G7. If you're on the G6, trust me, stay with it for at least a year until they iron out the many, many problems. Yes, the G7 is smaller, but that is the ONLY thing that is better or even as good as the G6.

Your remark "on your way to perfect blood sugars" made me laugh! lol Great video as always! Thanks for keeping us informed!

I don't have the Dexcom 7 yet but according to the video, Yes. You attach a new sensor while the old one is still on. (Tom attached the new one to his other/opposite arm.) While the new sensor is warming up, the old one is still receiving readings (and will for up to 12 hours past the ten day period). This is possible because of the automatic countdown that happens when you insert a new sensor.
Hope this helps.🙂

I can’t wait to get the G7 I’m calling my doctor on Monday because it released here on the 17th in the US. It is also so much cheaper than the G6 even with coupons. My G6 was running $180 a month and for that price, I can get three months of the G7. If they come three to a box like the G6.

I originally didn’t want to switch from my g6 but now may be considering it lol. Your videos are always pretty informative and helpful! ❤

Kevin Sayer did comment, about a year or so ago, that having a G7 sensor last to 14 days, in trials, was just not working. 12 days was the maximum, most of the time, but not enough to even put them out at that. I believe it was left that they're hoping to possibly get the G7s to 14 days, some day, but there's been no more put out about that.

☺Thank you. As always, you answer my questions well and anticipate others before I ask. Recently, I've experienced the anomaly between the G6, my phone and my pump. I usually have it at 2-3 days before its expiration. I only use finger sticks for the first 6 hours after installation. It causes me to calibrate.
The adhesive seems to be an issue across devises. Over patches are essential with my X2 as well. Please keep up the good work.

My 9 year old was diagnosed recently and he voiced his opinion that he wants the G7 and rather have this because it's annoying all the pricking him at night especially midnight and 3am and if he's happy we're happy.

I have a tandem x2 insulin pump and currently on the Dexcom G6 SENSORS but i got a email 2 days ago that i could upgrade to the Dexcom G7 so i took the course and passed and got the code and went to the portal and updated my pump. I will be getting my new sensors on the 22nd of this month. I had way too many issues with the G6 sensors. I'm looking forward to getting this new sensor.

Thank you so much for making this video!

I loved the Libre 3 adhesive as well. As someone who treads in extreme lows (40s and 50s) it just wasn’t accurate for me.

I switched to the G6 from Libre 3 and it’s been so much better numbers wise. I’m excited to try the G7 because compare to the Libre the the G6 is huge.

I am andorid user and it's says that my phone (Samsung A32) is compatiable with dexcom g7 app but when i already put my sensor on my arm and try to test it, I realized that that is not(as it says on the same dexcom app) and it's too late now 🙄.
Stupid that doesn't work with andorid.I preffer to have( and i will get back to) Librestyle sensor which is great...
Your videos are great btw ☝️😊.
Cheers from Ireland🇮🇪
