I love Dexcom G7. Simple. That does not mean it is perfect. I wanted to wait a few months to gather my thoughts about my personal Dexcom G7. Hope you found my review useful! Let me know if you have any questions below.

Disclosure: I was given 3 sensors as part of UK's limited launch followed by another 3 sensors by Dexcom’s marketing team at their blogger's event in London. I have subsequently been given extra sensors by Dexcom UK and self-funded some myself. Dexcom paid for my train fare and hotel for 1 night to attend their London event in May. I was not paid to make this video.

Excellent vid. Totally agree on all your points. I think we should stand outside HQ until they go direct to watch. In terms of stickiness, I wear mine on the abdomen and have yet to need the overlays.

I got my first G7 today and I put it on and I was amazed how it did not hurt at all. I'm on the tandem pump and on the pump it will ask you twice to confirm the sensor number to make sure your not entering the wrong code. Thank you Dexcom for a great product. Hopefully I will see better sugar reading than the G6

Thanks for your work. I learned about looping from you, and since have moved onto omnipod 5. Seeing you put on your omnipod and dexcom, strangely, just gave me a huge sense of relief because I’ve never seen anyone else put one on, thank you for normalizing t1.

Thanks for the video.
Looking forward to it working with the OP5 system. I heard that we will need new pods to work with the G7, have you heard if the current pods will work or will they need to be different ? I have a few extras stocked up in case I have any issues with one. It'll stink if they wont be usable at all.

Great review. I've been wearing my G7 since one day. I can already confirm everything you said. The Watch interface design is much better. I'm not wearing the overlay patch yet. I hope it works without it for 10 days🤞. While sleeping on my arm where I wear the sensor, I lost connection at night. Hopefully, this is not an ongoing problem. But so far, I'm pleased with it.

Hello!! I’m a new subscriber! My 14 year old daughter is type 1 and uses the dexcom 7! Please can you advice me what is the best apple watch to get her to be able to connect to the dexcom 7? X

The alert settings is one of the things I love the most using xDrip :)

My g6 is as accurate as my bg meter because I calibrate it. The auto calibration is an "average" so that it will be accurate for a certain percentage of the population, so my advice is calibrate it well and it should line up uncannily to your meter, don't trust the auto-calibration ever. As far as the not being able to restart the g7 this will be a deal breaker for me until either that gets fixed or until the g6 is no longer available and thus I'm forced to upgrade! This is what happened with the g5, eventually they said no longer available and dexcom automatically upgraded me to the g6 but luckily the g6 was good to restart. I think for everyone 10 days isn't long enough for many reasons and dexcom need to at least make sensors last 15 to 20 days at minimum.

I love my g6, I also have a truly zero carb tortilla recipe and many more that I’m monitoring with my g6🎉

I'm shocked that this isn't yet working with Tandem and Omnipod. Dexcom really dropped the ball here, they should have designed it for compatibility from the start. I don't care how good it is compared to the G6, I won't be changing until it can be used in conjunction with a pump. I liked 'ugly winter coat'.

Thanks for the review. I’m looking forward to being able to use it here in the USA, but won’t be able to until it integrates with the Tslim.

I have a small stash of G7 sensors but am waiting until they become more easily compatible with AAPS in order to use them, I have been put off from experimenting by the reports of poor accuracy. Do you know how I will be able to distinguish them (batch no?) from these "more accurate" G7 which are due to be released at some point? Thanks for your brilliant tech reviews btw!

Nice review. When will the improved G7 version be available in Germany? You mentioned it in between. Currently testing G7 with FAX (FreeAPSX) closed loop. Works well. General observation with G7 is that sometimes BG values are quite bumping around. Currently -2, 5 degrees celsius in Germany I also had multiple connection outages with G7 unfortunatelly.

I hear so many people about the stickyness issue :( Did the spokesperson mention they might improve that in the future? Nice video again!

About the alarms. When it is eventually linked up with an insulin pump (Tandem in my case), will the excellent alarm feature be no longer the case since the sensor will be sending info to the pump and the pump would be the one to alarm when connected to the sensor? For Tandem, it is the one that makes the loud alarm or buzzes inconsolably until you clear it --over and over and over again. Just hoping one of the best features of G7 is able to be kept once working along side a pump.
