Blind, Autistic, and Lonely (She Just Wants a Friend)

Krystal is blind and autistic. She lives in a rural town and is unable to drive due to her blindness. Due to these circumstances, Krystal is forced to stay at home despite her goal of traveling and making friends. This has left her feeling lonely and craving human interaction. Krystal wants others to know that friendship is one of the greatest gifts a person can give.

Whenever someone approaches me to engage in a seemingly meaningless few words, I always give them a smile and share a few nice words in return. More often than not, it’s someone that’s lonely and desperate for interaction. They just want to be seen. Your smile in the grocery store line or comment about the weather might be their only person to person moment that day. Sadly, most people today are too absorbed, unaware, and frankly annoyed by any unwanted interaction—you don’t have to stop and talk, but just perceive that person. To your surprise, it might be a pick me up for you too and help you walk away a better person. ❤️

She may be autistic and blind but i also see an intelligent soul with a great imagination and a love for laughter who feels left out in this world because of her disability. I have an invisible illness that keeps me homebound for long periods and it can be very isolating and depressing for anyone. "Krystal, your very COOL and amazing just the way you are!" I could see you doing puppet shows for kids !

I'm registered blind. I live in Europe and have access to good public transport, which allows me to enjoy a decent level of independence.

I can't imagine being stuck in a place where driving is essentially the only way to get around.

Krystal seems like a lovely character. She deserves all the best in life.
