How to Fix VMWare No Internet Issue

Have no Internet access into your Virtual Machine? The network icon in the system tray indicates no connections are available?

If your Virtual Machine in VMWare has no internet connection, you need to click on Edit - Virtual Network Editor and on the bottom left make sure you click on Restore Default to restore all of your network settings.

These are good steps to follow, but this method does not always work. Case in point, if you are on Comcast and the host is using WIFI, this will not work.

You will need to go back into Edit > Virtual Network Editor. Hit the box to become administrator. Then under VMNet information, choose BRIDGED, then under the BRIDGED TO drop down, choose your wifi adapter.

This is a huge oversight on VMware's part. VirtualBox, quite frankly, doesn't have this issue. It "just works".

On my list of VMs only one has this problem where I am getting a positive LAN connection with network but "No Internet". Could you point me out in the right direction if possible?

There is no such option in VMware Workstation 17 Player.
I removed the network interface and added another one. it still doesn't work. The interface does not get IP from DHCP and, if I set this manually, there is still no internet.

No need to reinstall, just change the NAT to bridge option and it should work.The issue lies in the NAT not working properly.
