Is 5G Safe?

You are being exposed to radiation right now. It’s coming at you from both space and the soil. From water and food. Your body itself is radioactive. And you’re being exposed to microwaves and radio waves, both natural and human-made. WiFi. TV. Radio stations. Cellphones. 3G, 4G and now, 5G.

5G is just getting started. Qualcomm, Samsung, Verizon, LG, Sprint — all these companies and more are right now working to build out the 5G ecosystem. But there is a spreading fear that 5G will cause cancer. Here's why scientific consensus says 5G is safe and will not harm humans.

Physicist here. The explanation of ionizing versus non ionizing radiation is not really correct. There isn't a "point" where radiation becomes ionizing. There are many. Each molecule has its own absorption spectrum, (this is the reason why things have color, and why certain foods heat faster than others in a microwave)

The reason why WHO lists mobile radiation as possible and not unlikely is because you literally have millions of different types of proteins in your body, and it's impossible to say for sure that the particular frequencies emitted by cellphones is harmless (low absorption) to all of them. There is also an issue with testing since each G spans a large enough spectrum such that some frequencies in that spectrum could be damaging to some proteins but most are harmless. Again, the reason why plants appear green is because they reflect at one particular visual frequency, and absorb the others. The visual frequency band is smaller than 3-5G.

Basically, don't listen to the guy who said 99% you'll be fine. He has no solid reasoning for arriving at that probability. Listen to the WHO, which basically doesn't know right now. And maybe don't place your phone right next to your head when you sleep, just to be safe.

I'm an electronics engineer with 20 years in RF design, I do not approve of 5G implementation, propagation devices are required all over the place for the network to properly function, we're going to constantly be bombarded with the signal emissions, not good for the body. It's all pure corporate greed and of course the media like CNBC have to do their part. I bet all the head corporate people wouldn't like to have all that equipment installed near their huge properties and mansions if they knew the side effects, it's insane... people need to protest but most will probably get seduced by their newfound speed in their devices... at what cost?
