My state assemblyman introduced a body armor ban.

I wrote him and asked him if he expected parents to remove those bullet resistant panels from their kids backpacks.

He didn't answer, but the law got gutted.

Why would the state of New York want to take away a defense against a criminal, unless they are the criminal?

This is insane.
It’s like banning locks on your homes exterior doors because you may be doing nefarious things inside your house.
There is zero honest or good faith intentions with these people

Why would you want to ban something that protects life, unless you plan on using force against the people and want them defenseless.

Trying to ban body armor is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard! Are they going to ban AR500 steel because it’s bulletproof?

It's crucial to highlight that the Second Amendment isn't just about firearms but also the tools and equipment that ensure one's self-defense.

The only reason to want to ban a defensive item is that the person pushing the ban wishes to use offense against the victim.

1) (Only reason needed) Body armor is covered under "arms". Hard stop. No further arguments.
2) They're in common use

Why dont we have a safeguard against unconstitutional laws like these being passed by the legislature??? Why should the people have to take the government to court to prove it??? Its asinine.

Sitting in my office in Indiana - staring at my safe full of guns and a nice selection of body armor - thanking god I don’t live in New York and had the clarity to move out of California.

What’s going on is that state law makers are not punished for violating your rights. But look what happens if you violate their unconstitutional laws. Hypocrisy.
