I still remember watching stampy make a chest tiled floor and then being devastated when an update made the chests smaller and ruined it

Fun fact: the item form of the chest is the original full block design. You can tell because the lock on it is in it rather than on it

as if waterlogging chests is a more important feature

Remember when we can't place two chest side by side or when we can't place a chest beside a large chest? Yeah that's when we had to use trapped chest those were the days

If chests were still a full block then we wouldn't be able to waterlog them at all

I remember in a old world on my ps3 I manage to put 2 chest next each other without them turning into a double chest

cons: lags the game more due to being an entity, can't put torches on them, fits kinda weirdly

pros: looks better when waterlogged i guess

I imagine you wouldn’t have been able to water log it if it was a full, opaque block. Don’t get me wrong new chest is definitely better, but afaik the only full blocks that can be water logged are transparent in some way, like the copper grate that’s coming out with trial chambers.

fun fact: back in 1.5.2 java, you couldn't place chests next to double chests

Well done! The effort and passion are evident.

I don't think they would need to be waterlogged if it was a full block tho

if chests were still full blocks, they wouldn't be able to get waterlogged

We wouldnt even think about getting waterlogged chests if it were a full block

If they were still a full block they probably wouldn’t be able to be waterlogged anyways

Fun fact: bedrock edition still uses the beta version of the chest in your inventory unlike in java edition where it uses the new chest texture

Since I haven’t been playing since 2013, I thought something looked strange about the chests.

I remember having to place the chests one block above another in order for the chests to be able to open. I was very surprised at the ability to put them right above each other in a world I made recently. My brother then told me that it’s because it’s partial—not full—blocks!

Also if they were full blocks we wouldn’t need to water log them.

We still need that full block as a decorative piece of wood I think. Crafting 3x3 to get them would be pretty fair. Plus it makes sense cause we also got the full bark block and the smooth stone
