Dr. Mandell's Hiatal Hernia Ball-Release Technique for Hearburn, Acid Reflux (GERD), & Belching

Показать описание
The exact cause of hiatal hernias is unknown. The condition may be due to weakness of the supporting tissue. Your risk for the problem goes up with age, obesity, and smoking. Hiatal hernias are very common. This occurs when the stomach protrudes upwards through the hiatus of the diaphragm. Most common symptoms are belching, acid reflux, hearburn, abdominal pain, difficulty swallowing, fullness, and vomiting. Avoid large or heavy meals. Limit foods that are acidic, such as citrus fruits and foods with caffeine or alcohol. Do not lay down or bend over after eating a meal. Reduce weight and do not smoke.

I got diagnosed yesterday after a gastroscopy. Did this and the water jump trick. Not had heartburn since. Early days... prayers are with all sufferers.

We have to way to heal our own bodies. When we get hurt we run to the doctor or don’t feel good we run to the doctor if we look it up and see what’s wrong and try to heal our own selves by massage using our own hands that makes more sense to me than just not touching anywhere where it bothered you and just getting pills from the doctor. It’s really a no brainer. So many good people on YouTube that helps you for free. We got to stay in control of our own bodies. A lot of doctors don’t get to the root of it they put a Band-Aid on it with medication. But thanks for this I’ve done this in the past and it works got rid of the hiatal hernia now I’m working on my mom. Thanks Dr. Mandel

Doctor = wish I had seen this video 7 months ago. My GI Dr did not tell me any of this. I researched from many resources for help. What I've learned + more, You have compiled into this 10 min video. Amazing! Thanks so very much. Lorelle, Kentucky

This works, I’ve noticed that by pressing in this area, the acid seems to stop refluxing immediately! Almost like pressing there acts like a manual valve to help close off the acid. It works for me immediately. Thanks Doc

I would like to suggest a quick alternative approach that might work. Just drink a couple glasses of water and jump up and down for a couple minutes to jiggle the stomach back down to its normal position. No harm or cost in giving this approach a try. You should know quickly, in a couple days, if this approach helps.

Forty years ago, I did an activity which forced part of my stomach up through or past the diaphragm. It was a couple months later that I suddenly started having severe stomach pains. I was initially misdiagnosed by a doctor as having ulcers. It was a couple of years of misery before I realized that the doctor was wrong and I had gastric reflux disease, or GERD. GERD often happens naturally without a clear cause, especially with older people. Normally, the esophagus sphincter and the diaphragm sphincter muscles line up and reinforce each other. If part of the stomach is pushed or pulled up through the diaphragm, the two sphincter muscles don’t line up and stomach acid can more easily leak into the esophagus, causing GERD.

Other people suggest drinking warm or hot water to relax the muscles, I would suggest cold water so that the heavy water will stay in the stomach longer. I would also suggest doing it first thing in the morning so the volume of water won’t dilute the digestion process of other food. It may take a repeat on a few successive days for the esophagus to adapt to the new longer length for the stomachs to stay in its new proper position. I would repeat the process anytime I got heartburn or acid taste in my mouth. I have been trouble free for over 35 years now, and can eat anything I want and take no meds for anything. I later learned of a gastroenterologist in Michigan who recommends this process also; maybe others now also.

The body needs strong hydrochloric acid in the stomach to trigger the esophageal sphincter to close, to break down bulk foods generally, and to separate protein into the amino acid components to be effectively absorbed from the small intestines for use to make new proteins our body needs. Most or all GERD medicines block the production of or neutralize the hydrochloric acid which then interferes with protein digestion and interferes with esophageal sphincter closing. Both of those actions are counterproductive.

I have tried this method with a tennis ball and it feels very relieving, it is much smoother than trying to prod and poke something you can't even see, down with your fingers.. Plus, the tennis ball doesn't have any sensitivity so there are no negative feelings regarding fat or body shape as you are performing it. So thanks for the video.

Dr Mandell I was told by my chiropractor that before I get out of bed to drink 30 oz of water. Stand up and bounce for 30 seconds. Then breathe out my mouth in short quick sessions while holding my arms out. This is supposed to pull the stomach down and out of the diaphragm. Needless to say I only did it a few days. I like your technique better. Thank you
