I was on ozempic and I got off it after one month because it taught me what my portions should be. So I stopped taking it and I’m still losing weight at a great rate because I learned from the drug. Others are gaining weight back because they are not learning from it!

I lost 40 lbs on Ozempic. I have been able to maintain this weight for over 18 months without the medication. It really takes a lifestyle change to avoid weight regain. I h have learned alternative ways to manage my stress without food, including exercising more and I got a new job since the stress at my old job was causing me physical and mental harm. I also try to eat a lot more protein and minimize my carb intake completely to when I was at my heaviest weight. This medication is fantastic, but you should not rely on it to do all the work for you, otherwise you will be back to the same pattern that caused your weight gain in the first place.

I’m already choosing to make healthy lifestyle choices so I think I’ll be a good candidate for Ozempic. I got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes two years ago. I stopped drinking alcohol, I work out and mostly eat healthy: plant based 80%, seafood 20% and eggs. I focus on low carb/low sugar. Thank you for this video.

Superb video Kwaku. I started Ozemic June 14th and to date I have lost 40lbs which I am delighted with. I have a total of 88lbs to lose so I am almost half way there. I must admit I am concerned for when I stop taking it. I have agreed with my GP that my cut off point will be when I reach my goal weight, but as your video shows quite clearly, weight gain is almost inevitable unless I make some massive changes to my exercise regime. I have had no negative side effects at all and am on 1mg. In Ireland they will not allow any more than 1mg but it's clearly working for me. Ozempic makes it so easy to eat much smaller portion sizes, but if I wasn't taking Ozempic I know I would be plagued with hunger pains. It makes me a little worried

I have been on ozempic since February 2022 because my Dr opted for this rather than bariatric surgery. I have currently lost 75# approximately 30% of my body weight I am not diabetic but have had chronic pain issues for over 20 yrs and I've discussed this issue with my Dr and though I've known since the beginning that I would be on this the rest of my life most likely it will probably be at a lower maintenance dosage. For those of you who aren't diabetic and have issues with nausea try eating or drinking something with a small amount of sugar...it helped me in the begining

I am Type 2 and taking Ozempic now for a year. I've lost weight and been taken off Insulin also it has helped lower my A1c with watching my diet and exercise. Some weeks are good but not always able to meet my goals. This video has helped me know that once I'm off Ozempic I need to be on my game to keep from gaining to much weight back as I don't want to end up on medication again.

I learn so much from your videos. Thank you for interpreting the medical studies and explaining it in such an understandable way.

Great explanation. I think people need to pay the most attention to what you said at the end: change your eating habits and exercise once you lose the weight. Imagine that! If people expect to take a weight loss medication, stop it and go back to what they were doing before, then I think folks are fooling themselves. The whole point of taking a weight loss medication is to boost your weight loss, but you have to take some responsibility and maintain a healthy lifestyle after the weight loss so that you don't gain the weight back. A lot of folks expect miracles when it comes to weight loss and there is no such thing. You have to put the work in to keep the weight off. This is not magic, it's reality. But overall, these medications are great for those who plan to use them with the proper mindset and goals in mind. And thanks for emphasizing the lifestyle changes at the end!

I have insulin resistance and PCOS so I literally gain weight by looking at food. I have found ozempic great for me. My appetite has never been huge and nausea is also a regular occurrence with PCOS. But I have found my auger levels are more regulated on ozempic. Also some of the more feminine issues have also become less. I’m not sure how long this will last but I’m hopeful. Are there any studies on PCOS and what options we have? I did try gluten-free, dairy free, sugar free vegan diet but that was surprisingly expensive and not very family friendly.

I am currently on Ozempic, and my advice is to make changes before getting on the medication. Though I have lost more weight on Ozempic, I started with my diet first. I exercise more regularly, too. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at the end of May this year. I have dropped more than 8kg since then.

This is very good info. Generally speaking this has been my experience whenever I lose weight. I’ve lost 75lbs like 4 times in my life just to gain it back. The key is to find a way to maintain. It’s easy to get to goal weight and than fall back on to old habits. Maybe if you use these meds the focus should be on really developing good habits to keep it off

Thank you for the insight. Your videos are always educational and informative. We should be developing the lifestyle changes while on the medication so that it is a habit once the medication is eliminated. Its a challenge but we don't have a choice if we want to be healthy.

Yes it helped me lose weight because I could not eat while on it. I took this for 6 weeks one shot per week, my stomach was upset and overall I felt poorly, when I finished the dose it took my body 2 weeks before my stomach started feeling good again and and my bathroom became regular again. I guess it works good for some folks but it did not work good for me. This part fit my experience- The most common side effects of Ozempic® may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach (abdominal) pain, and constipation.

Hi. I'm on ozempic. I'm a medical practitioner. My experience has been that I am making long term changes to life. I exercise daily which was not something ai was doing before. I say no to foods I know makes me gain weight. I did go off ozempic for a month and even though I was hungrier I was able to maintain the weight I lost. I continued to eat the same foods, exercise daily and drink the same amount of water. I'm back on ozempic since I have about 30Ibs left more to lose. I have lost 50Ibs since July 2022. Side effects are minimum. I have been so happy about the weight loss. I feel better and I don't ever want to gain the wt back again.

Love your review. Keep speaking truth to power. I switched to eating mostly vegetables 10 years ago and lost 120 pounds, and kept it off. No pills. Anyone can do this. As long as you can buy fresh produce at the grocery store, you can do this too. It's not magic. Being 120 pounds skinnier IS so much better.

Thank you for this video. One thing I might point out is the math is a little bit flawed as far as regaining weight as it is presented. For example:

If you weigh 300 pounds and lose 30% of your weight, you now weigh 210 pounds. If you now gain 10% of your bodyweight back, you don't weigh 240 pounds. You weigh 231 pounds. It's small, but significant in the context of the conversation.
