Knee push ups are a valid step in the right direction for anyone that has struggled with regular push ups.
I broke my back and lost much of my strength over the next 2 years. When I finally got back to moving, 10 knee push ups 10 times a day were my key to getting my strength back.
As of now, I just did 150 regular push ups, 250 sit ups, and 100 squats in 5 sets.
Consistency and discomfort will make you strong. Comfort will betray you.

Open heart surgery 2 years ago and still regaining my strength. Thanks for giving me the courage to try push-ups again. I just did 25 pushups against the counter - something I was unable to do a few months ago so I was afraid to try again. Today, I was able to do 25 of them! Next to knee push ups. ❤

***DO NOT DO THE FRIDGE PUSH-UP, DO A WALL PUSH-UP INSTEAD***

Doing the fridge push-up could seriously damage your condenser coils, and the wall behind it as well.

1) Love seeing you in your new kitchen.
2) Love that it looks genuinely lived in.
3) Once had a substitute teacher who practiced yoga HARDCORE. In order to get us to be good, he promised once to show us what he called an “Iron Cross”. I kid you not, he got face down on the floor, arms akimbo, palms flat to the ground, curled his fingers, and pushed himself up on his toes and JUST HIS FINGERTIPS!! To this day still one of the wildest things I’ve ever seen. And he was maybe late forties, early fifties, and claimed he’d taken up yoga as part of his life change and rehab after a heart attack.

Made me realize maybe I didn’t have to be overweight for the rest of my own life, either, as I had been for ten years at that point.

The best thing that a lot of recent calisthenics influencers have been pushing is the idea of progressions. Not that progressions are new; it’s just the internet fitness influencers for the longest time were super toxic

You dont know how much the "it's not a girl push-up, stop calling it that." completely made my day. As a girl who is still struggling to do a push-up, this was my motivation. Thank you so much for being a wonderful human being❤

YOOO I did this when I was 11! Im autistic and got very fixated on how many pushups and situps I could accomplish within a minute, also because thats how schools were testing us physically and I got a bit competitive.
I would work out for 1-2 hours every night, I had a list of exercise routines that I would cycle through in different orders every night to keep things interesting and work certain muscles more or less every night.
Before my parents divorced and life turned to chaos, I think I was JUST able to break 60 pushups in a minute. I think I had 62. For situps in a minutes, elbows to knees, I was somewhere in the 70s or 80s within a minute... I remember how and what I used to do, I just wish I still had the energy and motivation to go that hard...

I'm a girl and I've been calling kneeling push-ups "girl push-ups" my whole life. Recently though I've realized the internal misogyny many of us carry, regardless of gender, and I've wanted to work on my own internal bias so I just wanted to thank you for taking me further, even if just a step, towards my goal ❤
