In today's video from Medicare School, Marvin Musick compares the Humana and Aetna Medicare plans to help viewers decide on choosing an advantage plan. Marvin emphasizes the importance of checking if providers and prescription drugs are covered in the plan's network and comparing key factors such as deductibles, max out-of-pocket expenses, and copays. The video also discusses the benefits of over-the-counter items, dental, hearing, and vision coverage and advises viewers to research and compare plans to find the best value. If you're going on Medicare and considering an advantage plan, this video provides useful information to help you decide whether a Humana Medicare Plan or Aetna Medicare Plan is right for you.

As a nurse who spends time procuring authorization for treatments, Humana is one of the worst.

And THIS is why I went with supplemental insurance. Less expensive if you have any healthcare problems and we're all going to get older and most of us to go to the doctor occasionally. $226 deductible yearly after you pay a monthly premium. In the long run, I went with a better service that can be used anywhere in the United States, that will end up costing me less over time. Thank you Medicare School for helping me to choose.

Started with Aetna and a local agent who couldn't be bothered to spend much time explaining the system. Once I found this channel and became more informed, I switched to a G plan via a Medicare School agent. It's worked out well, especially when I had an issue with a bill that I wasn't liable for. Medicare School helped me handle that, whereas a similar issue with Aetna was a HUGE hassle and anxiety making.

Thank you for what you do to explain all the different ways Medicare works. My wife and I have learned ALOT about advantage and supplemental plans from you and your son.

I’m staying with original Medicare plus my supplemental plan bc I hate paying a copay every time I see a doctor and I also hate the paper work and phone time that is spent when you want/need to see an out of network doctor! Paper work and phone nonsense give me too much anxiety!

I have been told to stay away from the Avantage insurance plans. It sounds good but there are problems insurance conpanies don't tell you about. I use to wonder why my phone rang off the hook every day with foreigners trying to sell me a avantage program until I studied the insurance and who really benefited.

I have been subscribed to this channel for awhile! Thanks Marvin!!! I just signed up for an Advantage Plan. Here in Utah we have Select Health as an option (5 star). They practically own Utah. My work plan is through them, so I've used their network for the last 13 years. The Medicare plan is even better than my employer covered plan. The max out of pocket is a bit high, but the co-pays are lower that a lot of others. Their Dental covers $1500 per year and includes crowns and implants. (one implant will burn through that, though). I just spent 3 hours reading through the fine prints, and was happy to see that there is NO PRE-AUTHORIZATION required for in-network! That was my main hurdle between Advantage or Supplemental. Still got to save up what I'd be paying for Supplimental to cover those possible max out of pockets when I get older and start breaking down.

I've been on Medicare almost 4 years (January). I've yet to find a plan that's as good as Medicare and Tricare For Life. If you know of one please tell me. Thanks, and keep up the great work.

go with traditional Medicare. I see way too many patients get denied post acute care with managed plans.

As far as the co-pay for ambulance service, in many areas Ambulances Services offer a membership and they are usually very reasonable. The company I retired from offered a yearly membership for a family for $50.00 so in the event you used an ambulance and it was medically necessary the membership would cover the deductible. So it may be worth looking into in your area. Along with the ambulance membership some offer added features like CPR classes and other things.

I love this company! Marvin saved me from the insurance agent who only recommended Advantage Plans because his commission was higher. With the help of this company, I was able to switch to regular Medicare and a Plan G supplement. Huge improvement!

I did not hear you say that Humana does not pay for airlift hospital flights -- Aetna covers both ambulance and air.
