Tip for you. that black rubber release button should be to the back of your canner. that what the book states because if it were to exploded and your standing there, that hot stream is going to hit you in the face. safety tip

OHhhh! I am looking forward to this and your sisters recipes! Thank you. Always use a solid tutorial and something to do w/ the chic peas, haha. I watched a video of an older gentlemen teach pressure canning and what a God send! Great tips for brining pressure up slowly and only finger tight on the jars! These two tips have saved my tail! If I may... TheMudBrooker has a tutorial that shows how to bring up to pressure and "babysit" the pressure (Beginner's Guide to Presto Pressure Canners). That is the elephant in the room that NO ONE teaches/discusses. Check him out. Saved me! Newbie in July. Peace
