I'd been praying for guidance with beginning what I call "the journey to self sufficiency." It seemed like too big a task for someone like me, but I felt like it was something I needed to do. My parents always leave the ring on while storing it. Is there a reason why you don't? I understand taking it off to test the seal, but why not put it back on? Especially for once you open them and go to use the food?

I didn’t know that i can remove the ring. What’ll happen if i keep the ring on. Is it save to just have the lid without the ring to secure it?
