Always do my beans this way. My favorite is garbanzo beans adding 2 cloves of garlic to each jar. Makes the best homemade hummus!

With people turning back to the old ways, these basic canning recipes are great 👍

I buy cans of seasoned black beans at the grocery all the time, but NO MORE! I'll be seasoning them myself and canning them myself!! Thanks for that great tip - I didn't realize you can season beans when you can. I'm learning so much this Canuary 😁

I've been learning so much from all of your canning videos. As a new canner, you make things not seem so complicated and difficult. Like anyone can be successful!

Canned beans are getting more and more expensive in the store-just like everything else it-so when I get a canner, I'm sure I'll be making these! Thank you for being a part of Canuary :-)

For my black beans I love to add 1/2 cup of my homemade salsa before filling with water. It’s so delicious that way!

This us how I always can my beans. Easy to add extra jars to finish filling a canner full as long as time is the same. (Had 5 pints of meat the other day...so added 2 jars of beans so canner was full)

I learned how to water bath can this summer from you and others on YT. Bought a pressure canner a couple of months ago but have been afraid to use it. This is how I will start. I have watched at least 50 videos using a pressure canner - I think I’m ready!! 🤗
Thanks for the encouragement…

Beans were the first thing I canned. I was so scared, but after the first time and it was successful I couldn't stop canning. It's my therapy.
Thank You for sharing and being part of this years Cannuary 2022. I LOVE your videos, you and Todd are amazing and so sweet to watch.

I just love how simple and easy you make canning seem. I’ve watched a ton of your videos and finally tried canning two months ago. Thanks for making these videos! Love your style and listening to your voice….like my best friend is canning with me.

A lot of canned beans contain nitrites/nitrates… and other preservatives. So although inexpensive at the store, canning at home still seems like the better option.

Try dehydrating cooked beans and make instant beans and vac seal in bags…no glass jars. Also makes great tortillas, wraps and soup additive. My daughter is texture sensitive since suffering a brain injury and she likes beanless bean soup with the flavor but not the beans.
Can’t wait until you video another cabin get way…😍
Anymore gran kiddie snack recipes?

Everything I read from the “books” says don’t can beans without pre-heating in some way. This looks so much more convenient and the beans did not look mushy. I’m going to give it a try ! Thank you

I know folks rebel can beans, but I never felt comfortably doing it. I know that the beans stay firmer and don’t go to mush, which is a plus.

This method is not USDA approved, but that is the way that I can dry beans. Soaking the beans causes them to be mushy after canning.

Hey there, Honest question, I found out that this method is not recommended. I would love to hear your thoughts on 'rebel canning' and why you would promote something that has a supposed risk. I'm brand new to this, and I was excited to learn about this method, butafter looking into it more I found out you're supposed to cook them first.... This led me to look into all the things and finding out there are a lot a recipes that are not supposedly done correctly or tested.... This has me very discouraged and makes me feel antsy about canning now in some ways because it makes me feel so restricted in what I can do now. Thank you for your time
