I have a feeling Mike is about to tear this one apart. There’s a lot of research on the stretch/eccentric component of a lift. I really don’t think Greg did a deep enough dive into the literature on this. Normally he’s really solid on aligning with the research.

Went to the stretch stuff the last few months and made 0 gains. Just recently came back to just high intensity, heavy sets, and already im gaining muscle back.

Depends on what exercise you’re doing. Like with Weighted Push-ups, include a deficit off of some plyo boxes, chairs or any other elevated surface. The extra range of motion tears more muscle fibers in the chest. Just an example. It has its place in a program no doubt but ofc progressive overload is always #1

Your approach is great.so sick of people saying you must hit a muscle 2+ times a week (dr.mike cough cough) we dont wanna be in the gym many times a week we have lives and things we wanna do outside the gym

I made a noob at gym do exercises which emphasises deep stretch for 3 months and he grew twice as big as I was I did in my 1st 3 months

Stretching is most effective at 30 seconds per stretch. Consistency is key with it
