Should we always pause at the bottom of a movement to negate the stretch reflex, or are there times when it is appropriate to use the stretch reflex in training?

Got this massive dude barely using a plate and maybe a 35 with hip hinges with great gains… i see dudes all the time stacking 4, 5, 6 plates on that thing moving like bunny rabbits

What exercise is this? Is it better than RDLs? I tend to shake alot during the stretch in an RDL and feel I loose the tension in the hamstrings. Any recommendations?

Is he doing those hip hinges on a power squat machine? I have one of those at my gym and never considered doing hip hinges on them.
